5 /5 Mike Brown: We live in Botley; our daughter & family live in Chandlers Ford - but we wanted to find somewhere around Warsash where my brother & sister-in-law (& Archie, their Airedale terrier) were visiting from Gloucester in their motor home. Timings for bookings at other venues in the area were not ideal, so my brother booked the Nook & Cranny for 2pm. This was a pub unknown to me or our daughter.
Our group of 7 plus 2 dogs were made really welcome, and the service was attentive and quick. We all went for main courses, and all of us found the food excellent. I had the hake special which was a nice chunky piece of fish - well cooked and presented on a bed of vegetables. Most of the group had a nice dessert, with the roulade highly recommended.
It was not busy for a Sunday afternoon in winter, so there was no pressure to vacate the table. We were there until 5pm just chatting and catching up with family, in a nice atmosphere.
We have lived in Botley for 8 years and not even driven past this pub, just 15 minutes away. But we will certainly go again and will recommend to friends and neighbours.
