1 /5 Boo: We were seated very quickly as the restaurant was almost empty, which in hindsight probably should have been our first clue.
The menu was extensive and we needed a little time to decide. When we asked the waiter to come back, it felt quite rushed despite there being very few customers. The restaurant itself was clean, but it was absolutely freezing. In March, you would expect the heating to be on. There was also no background music, which made the atmosphere feel quite flat.
When the food arrived, my child’s burger was missing the extra cheese we had requested. We sent it back, but staff said they needed to “add it to the system” before returning it to the kitchen. I wasn’t prepared for my six-year-old to sit watching everyone else eat while that was sorted, so I asked them to just take it back and deal with the system afterwards.
The food itself was average and overpriced for what it was. Portions were on the small side, and our meals sat on the serving hatch for several minutes before being delivered by the robot, followed by two members of staff. It felt more like a gimmick than good service.
It’s clear some staff are new and in training, which is absolutely fine. What wasn’t fine was the manager’s attitude, which felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive throughout our visit.
Dessert was underwhelming.
We were also initially charged for the children’s meals, despite the menu clearly stating that kids eat free with an adult main (maximum two children). This was corrected quickly once we pointed it out.
After the meal, we used the arcade for around 30 minutes. At about 9pm, the manager came in abruptly telling us they were closing and that we needed to leave. I asked for five more minutes so the children could finish their game. He rolled his eyes before agreeing, then stood watching us until we left.
Overall, I have never felt so uncomfortable during a family outing. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning
