Canonbury Carpentry Popped in Humdingers Highbury for the first time when I was working local to them. After looking at the menu I asked for a breakfast bun but was told they wasn’t cooking hot food at that time. However the staff were very helpful and pointed me in the direction of their pre-made sandwiches/rolls which they told they would heat up. Opted for a tuna roll, and an apricot pastry. The roll was fresh and extremely filling, the pastry was probably the best pastry I’ve ever had. £8 for the 2 items and drink, very reasonable for fresh delicious food that filled me up for the rest of the day. Will definitely be going back.

Rats “Rats” We had sushi, calamari tempura, two donburi bowls (lamb , salmon) and a chicken massaman curry. Everything tasted fresh & lovely. The portions were generous and the service friendly. A great addition to Highbury Park

CJ M A cosy and warm restaurant in Highbury. The staff are friendly, inviting, helpful and happy. The food - absolutely divine, cannot fault anything. We loved the prawn starter rolls, beef in black bean, jasmine rice and beef noodle pho (soup dish with noodles). You can also ring the restaurant, order and collect yourself (for a good price - said the waiter) OR Order through Uber/Deliveroo and pay their charges.

Tatiana Sales My husband and I went there last Friday. It’s a small Italian restaurant that pleasantly surprised us. We ordered a delicious pizza – the food was fresh and flavorful. We were also served a complimentary starter of crostini and olives, and for dessert, we had a tiramisu that came in a very generous, homemade-style portion. We highly recommend this place – the chef and staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. It truly has a taste of Italy in London!

shel Red The three-course Christmas meal was absolutely delicious and beautifully thought out from start to finish. The starter of portobello mushroom was rich, hearty, and perfectly cooked, offering deep, earthy flavours that set the tone for the rest of the meal. The main course, turkey, was wonderfully tender and full of traditional festive flavour. It was cooked to perfection, juicy and satisfying, and paired brilliantly with the accompanying elements to create a comforting and classic Christmas experience. To finish, the apple and strawberry crumble was a real highlight. The fruit was sweet and gently tangy, balanced perfectly by a golden, crumbly topping that added just the right amount of texture. It was a delightful and indulgent end to a fantastic meal. Overall, this three-course Christmas dinner was comforting, flavoursome, and thoughtfully prepared — a truly enjoyable festive treat that left everyone feeling content and well cared for.
