5 /5 KAYS CHOWDHURY: Beautiful place with its own dignity and history. This historic building has stunning interior. Loved to see all these prestigious decorations and portraits.
5 /5 Kyle B: This building’s outside looks really cool and is a great spot to snap some pics. The classic architecture gives it a proper London vibe. If you’re nearby and want a quick photo op, it’s definitely worth a stop
5 /5 batman51: Whilst the outside of the building, opposite the Bank of England and theRoyal Exhange, is quite grand, it is the interior which is really worth seeing. It was open this year for Open House weekend and we enjoyed a 40 minute guided tour. If you can catch it next year, well worth it.
4 /5 Rafael Pittman: Amazing insight into the home of The Rt Hon the Lady Mayor, Alderwoman Dame Susan Langley. She is the 697th person to hold this office and the first to specifically adopt the title "Lady Mayor
On a private tour photo of me with bust of
George Swan Nottage (1823–1885) the last Lord Mayor of London to die in office, passing away from bronchitis on April 11, 1885. Due to his death while holding the position, he was afforded the honour of being buried in the crypt of St Pauls Cathedral.
5 /5 Steven stennett: Beautiful piece of history, stunning building, and interior.
The great thing about London is its history.
It has a dark past, wealth built on slavery, death, and destruction.
You can still have an appreciation of the architecture as long as you understand the cost in human souls that it took to build.
