1 /5 R Sam: I went to the Reigate Kororo 28/02/2026 paid for my order in the photo below. The lady who served me went to get my order ready, and came back to tidy the floor. She swept, collected the rubbish and put the broom away. She reappeared within seconds later to soon serve me my food. I wanted to say something. I pondered for a while as I did not want to offend her by stating the obvious. After battling with my thoughts and being self aware, bearing in mind that I could be met with denial and disapproval, I said respectfully said that ‘you swept and did not wash your hands’! I wish I had said it sooner. She denied it and said she washed her hands. I did not reply. I knew what I saw, she knew what she did and she continued to say I washed my hands but the timings of putting the brush away and returning to serve me did not match her denial. There is cctv in the shop, you can watch it all. Her disapproval, stares at me and the disbelief looks on her face made me uncomfortable and my teenage daughter was so uncomfortable with the stares. My daughter whispered to me, she is not happy with you, you shouldn’t have said anything. She reappeared without washing her hands, but she is not happy you said that. I told my daughter, it’s about food hygiene. I wouldn’t have said anything, I thought long and hard about it, considered how I would come across, how she will take it and in a kind way, I had said my thoughts of the no hand wash issue. I was not critical of her, i just calmly stated my observation and not long after serving me when she knew, though denied my observation. Hand washing takes more than a second i thought. You can verify if your cctv works. I hope it does.
