5 /5 Kibibe Bailey: I went here with my uncle for a pre birthday meal, and it was a perfect choice of restaurant. Fine dining aesthetic but not so bougie you feel you cant sit down or go in if youre not totally smartly dressed.
The aesthetic is on point for a bit more of an up-market feel, its nice to see a Caribbean restaurant do such a thing, and believe this is also owned by the Jerk Garden (Crofton Park) owner, which has a similar look & feel.
I had the roti & panang, prawns, lamb chop and rice and peas. All dishes were served to perfection, the roti was such a nice texture and went perfectly with the curry, the prawns were breadcoated and were crisp, the lambs were well done and had a sweet and spice sauce to accompany them (a bit of an oxtail taste). We missed dessert on this occasion as we were stuffed! But would have tried the Guinness cheesecake for sure!
Service was on point, Angel was very attentive and even gave us some suggestions for food and drink. He seems very knowledgeable and liked his job.
I wouldnt say its kid friendly to be honest, chairs are suede and tables are too low form high chairs it feels, but I could be wrong.
There is an upstairs which was closed when I went there, it opens at 6 but still had a nosey, (as I do) its less bougie than downstairs, but still a nice space and seats 30 people for private functions too etc.
Really wish this new restaurant all the best, its a 10/10 spot. Date night, family, catch up.
Cant really speak on atmosphere as it was quite quiet when we were there, (day time Saturday 1pm) however, we had a great time and created our own vibe! Id probably recommend a reservation ahead of time for evening bookings as Im guessing it gets quite busy.
Ill be back definitely.
