5 /5 Nicola Ridley: We had a gorgeous meal here- far exceeded any pub meal we have had in London for a long time. Could not recommend enough.
We had the sea bass, pork with black pudding, creme brûlée and sticky toffee pudding- all 10/10!
That, plus attentive service & a very sweet setting.
4 /5 Sarah Harleyquinn: Nice little village pub just outside of Marlborough down a nice quiet country road. it was really busy when we got there and had other tables reserved also for a Saturday afternoon was lovely. staff friendly and helpful because no room inside the manager put the heaters on under canopy which was nicely decorated. Plenty of seating. We are going to go again to try food. Lovely atmosphere and a big childrens play area. Would recommend
5 /5 ROWENA THOMAS: A proper village pub with a genuinely warm, friendly welcome and all the cosy charm you’d hope for. The food is consistently very good, made with fresh, local ingredients, and excellent value for money — genuinely worth travelling for if you appreciate good cooking done properly. Sunday lunch is especially popular, so it’s well worth booking ahead. A lovely place for a relaxed meal in a great atmosphere.
5 /5 Nina BB: A very impromptu visit since it was around half way distance traveling to a Friends new house, and happened to come up on Google, but it was the nicest pub food I’ve had in a long while, would 100% recommend! We had Steak and Venison and it was so tasty.
Tim Hood Proof the Masterchef judges got it right!
We had Sunday lunch here and it was the best we’ve ever had, with the added bonus of some Michelin quality starters and deserts. Had a quick chat with Tom the owner who is a lovely guy and deserves the support of anyone who believes in top quality, good honest food and backing UK’s small businesses. Go there and be happy!
Carla Oshaughnessy We held my Sister’s 50th birthday meal /party there last night for 30 of us, we booked the whole restaurant ! The staff couldn’t do enough to help. The meal was amazing, we pre booked and there wasn’t a single issue with the food orders, all came out together and was delicious, the portions are also very generous. The staff all worked really hard. We all had a brilliant evening and my sister had the best 50th. We will def be booking future family parties with The Crown again soon.
Phil Chamberlain Had lunch for three and it was a great find.
A simple menu that covered all the bases. We had garlic mushrooms in a creamy sauce and chicken liver pate for starters. Very good. Two types of tart and a prawn and tuna chowder (pictured) for the main. Apple pie and tiramisu for pudding.
Good portion sizes, full of flavour and fresh.
The staff worked hard and there was a cosy atmosphere at this top of the high street location.
Highly recommend.
Shantanu Rahman I have been in the UK for more than 20 years now. Being originally from India, I never had a great experience in any Indian cuisine restaurant here in the UK. They all try to bring a weird taste to Indian cuisine thinking that would cater well to British and migrated Asian palate better.
But I have to admit that I had an amazing experience and joy when I visited The Zaika Inn at Marlborough last week. The food is simply mind-blowing! You can rarely get this sort of fabulous food even in extremely high-end 5 star hotels and restaurants in India. The taste, presentation and quality of service was exemplary. The menu is so original and food is prepared with fresh, authentic spices. I even had the privilege of talking to the owner and Chef, Mr Biswas. He is such a passionate restaurateur. His love for cooking and serving his customers is easily palpable and that is the USP of The Zaika Inn. I strongly recommend this restaurant to all. If you have not visited this place then you have not tasted real Indian cuisine.
