Simon Honey Back in the middle of June, I visited the restaurant with a couple of my friends and the meals we ate were wonderful. I really enjoyed the Mari Chicken with its black pepper sauce. As I live near Aberdeen it is of course very difficult to get to the restaurant, or even order a take away. What would be great is if I could have recipe, and then I could attempt to make it, probably not as good as you guys but I will try.

Demetri N Hands down the best Italian restaurant I’ve been to. From the owners, to the manager, to every single member of staff. The hospitality was exceptional. You can genuinely feel the care and pride in everything they do! The food was incredible, the service seamless, and the atmosphere just perfect. Even our family who came down from up north said they’d travel back again just for this place. A proper gem. We’ll definitely be back

The food is beyond amazing, the kind that makes you excited to wake up in the morning. Everything on the menu tastes fresh, homemade, and full of flavor. I catch myself daydreaming about my next visit (sometimes I even preorder because I just can’t wait!). The staff are always so welcoming and kind — they make you feel like family. They remember your name, your usual order, and always make you feel so welcome. The atmosphere is cozy and happy, whether you’re grabbing a quick breakfast or sitting down for a slow weekend brunch. My first stop was Denver, Colorado, where I couldn’t find any halal food at the airport — most options were buffalo or turkey, and even the salads came with raw onions. Then I had a 9-hour flight to London, and there wasn’t really anything suitable for me on the plane either, since I’ve been following a low-carb, no-sugar diet for a while. When I finally got to my hotel, I checked for nearby places to eat and found this spot. I was genuinely surprised — the food tasted homemade, absolutely delicious, and the staff was not only kind and welcoming but also took the time to explain the dishes really well. I mentioned my dietary preferences, and she recommended a slightly spicy dish — the lamb curry. The meat was perfectly cooked, and the spices were balanced beautifully. Highly recommended for anyone looking for halal, flavorful, comforting food and great service!

Pugh was dog friendly and clean, modern and quirky. Onsite parking and garden area. Pub is a hidden treasure away from the main road opposite Trent Park entrance. Will definitely be visiting again.
