5 /5 trevor harvey: This is a well preserved piece of local ancient history without it being commercialised and tacky. You do need to stare at the scene armed with the information given on site with some imagination for it to fully register. Its a little way from the carpark which is a good thing to preserve the unspoilt antiquity of it.

4 /5 John J. Fox: Rich in history Camelot Moat, associated with King Arthurs reign is a quadranglular land feature located on Ferny Hill, Trent Country Park, North London. Measuring approximately 197 by 131 feet, fragments of pottery, mosaic tiles and ancient timber structural remains have been revealed during various excavations. The ghostly apparition of The Earl of Essex Geoffrey de Mandeville a 12th century owner, purportedly roams here, jealously watching and guarding the site of a buried treasure! Notorious highway robber Dick Turpin allegedly also frequented surrounding woods in the 1700s. Aside from these curious legends, this is indeed an area steeped in its own unique atmosphere and ideal for hiking.
