Kate Avery We popped in today for lunch. Two adults, a baby and two dogs. The staff were welcoming, polite and very accommodating. The fire was on. Which was a very nice addition on a chilly day. For lunch we had the seafood chowder with a side of seasoned fries and Cajun chicken burger. My husband didn’t share his burger but the seafood chowder was absolutely delicious! Great portion sizes. Well seasoned with lots of fish and mussels. After an interesting crossing from the mainland this was a very welcome stop. So pleased we popped in and I would urge everyone to do the same! Very lovely experience. Unfortunately we didn’t need a room but if we ever need one this will be my first place to contact.

Cleo Petricek Excellent food. The best scones I have ever had. The carrot cake was very tasty too. The tomato soup was so delicious, I am craving it again while I type this.

Julie D We were gifted a sharing platter. Phoned to book the platter and arrange collection. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful, the order was ready for collection as arranged. The food was delicious and more than enough for two. I would definitely use the Gurnard Press again and recommend.

Finfin yellow The scallops were absolutely delicious, and the lobster soup was my favorite. The portions are very generous, and even the beer surprised me with its refreshing kiwi and lime flavor. Everything was wonderful. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

Shaayna Browne Had a great experience today at the Salix cafe being served by Mark. Very chatty and polite , warmed up my meal I bought from home (I have dietary needs) as well as provided me extra sauce and seasonings for the food we ordered from him. Very relaxing environment in the lovely weather and beachfront view , really made me smile with his level of service and kindness. Also the cafe is very clean and well put together , modern decor , great seating arrangement, efficient queing/ordering system didn’t have to wait long for the meal at all. Overall 10s all round.
