Julia Lu-Sellers Splendid Indian which happened to be our local one. All dishes are spot on. Staff very friendly. Only drawback is it could open for lunch too as these types of dishes dont digest this easily at night.

Dowel Ahmed We went for breakfast on a Saturday, where it was empty so we were able to sit down anywhere and get served. There is a garden section at the back, which would be a great place on a summer day with the open roof. The food is standard breakfast fare, with a nice variety of items to choose from. We went for the full English and the Turkish breakfast, the children had sausage and scrambled eggs with pancakes as a take away. It was very filling, the items cooked well. As a local cafe it is a better alternative to the chain cafes, it is easily accessible by car or public transport and is on the high street so there is plenty to do afterwards.

Irina Carabella Lovely hidden gem in Forest Gate! Delicious food, comfortable seating, friendly staff and chill atmosphere. I was looking for a quiet place to work on my laptop and have some lunch and this hit the spot! The front looks quite unassuming but they actually have more seating in the back! Their drinks and food are delicious and I’m looking forward to coming back a 3rd time to try their french toast. I recommend their Indian breakfast and spanish latte.

Rob Key Ross Great atmosphere on a Sunday, both inside and out on the terrace despite the cold. The roast was excellent, and the staff — waiters and bartenders alike — were brilliant. We had not booked a table, but were lucky enough to find an empty one at peak time. Next time I would definitely book in advance, though.

It’s the kind of setting that makes you forget the hustle outside and fully immerse yourself in the evening. Service was a standout highlight, thanks to our attentive server, Saqlene. He anticipated our every need with genuine warmth and efficiency, from recommending pairings to ensuring our glasses were never empty. His professionalism and enthusiasm added a personal touch that made the meal feel truly special—kudos to him for making us feel like valued guests throughout. Now, onto the food: East Eatery delivers on its promise of bold, flavoursome dishes.
