1 /5 sarah: I’ve been to Chutnee a few times before and previously had no major issues, but tonight’s visit was extremely disappointing. The portion sizes have noticeably decreased compared to when I last visited a few months ago. The paratha in my wrap was soggy, and the chips were greasy and poorly cooked.
I paid £2.50 for extra chips with my paneer wrap and was given approximately 25 chips, which works out at around 10p per chip, completely extortionate for standard chips. They were not thick-cut, despite what we were told, and there was nothing premium about them.
When the waiter asked how the food was, we politely explained that the paratha was soggy and that the chips portion was very small. His response was simply that “the chips are quite thick,” which is not true, and he didn’t offer to fix the issue, replace anything, or provide a solution. He walked away, which came across as dismissive and condescending.
Overall, the quality, value for money, and customer service have gone downhill. For the prices being charged, this experience was unacceptable and not worth returning for.
