1 /5 Romaisa Bhatti: I had a very disappointing experience at Chini Chor. I ordered papri chaat and very clearly asked for the papri to be kept separate, not mixed with the potato, onions, or chutney, as I needed to serve it later to guests. I repeated this request several times, and they explicitly agreed and said they would make it exactly as requested.
When I got home, I discovered they had completely mixed the papri with the onions and potato, making it soggy and unusable. This was incredibly frustrating, especially as I had been very clear and they had confirmed multiple times.
When I called the shop to explain, instead of apologising, they argued with me, insisted they had done nothing wrong, and told me to come all the way back to return the food. I was shouted at on the phone and received horrible customer service, with no attempt to take responsibility, compensate, or resolve the issue properly.
On top of that, I had also ordered samosas and asked to swap the yoghurt sauce for imli. Again, they agreed, but when I arrived, they had already put the yoghurt in the bag and only corrected it after I reminded them again.
Other places are happy to serve food the way you ask and even charge a small extra fee (around £2) for imli without any issue. This place couldn’t even follow basic instructions they agreed to, and then blamed the customer.
Avoid this shop if you value your time, money, and being treated with basic respect.
