5 /5 Simone Martelossi: I had a lovely three night spa break, which left me really recharged! The location is very quiet, and the spa services have been amazing. All the staff is really professional, friendly and helpful but I have to shout out especially to Cody, Nicoleta and their colleagues at the Pavillion restaurant, who made me feel very well looked after and elevated my dining experience altogether. Will definitely be back!

Tristan & Anna on reception greeted me with warmth & professionalism (despite it being the end of a long day for Tristan / Anna dealing with a ‘tricky’ customer!). Prashant & Cody were both wonderful in the restaurant. Cody was charming & helpful when it came to my dietary needs (coeliac), & Prashant organised my flat white & sorted out my GF bread for toast. Lisa & Ebony in the spa were kind, professional & calm. Lisa was generous with her time - recommending treatments & Ebony was highly skilled. Sarah at the bar - so happy to help & Zoe on reception when I left - efficient, patient & engaging… my only quibbles would be: under-cooked chinky chips, bathrooms need updating & gluten free bread/options (especially at breakfast) very poor.

5 /5 Sara Hilal: We spent one night at the East Sussex National Hotel to unwind from the chaos of London, and it was exactly what we needed. Being only an hour away from the city but surrounded by such lush greenery and stunning scenery made it the perfect getaway. The highlight of our stay, however, was dinner at the Hunnington Grill. The food was truly out of this world, but what made the evening unforgettable was the service. Ben was incredibly hospitable and went above and beyond to help us host a special birthday celebration for our friend. His attention to detail and warm energy made the night complete. Highly recommend for anyone looking to recharge

5 /5 Louise Coppard: We visited East Sussex National Hotel near Uckfield today for Brunch with Father Christmas, and the whole experience was excellent. The staff were attentive, professional, and genuinely accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The Christmas brunch was delicious and very well presented. This is a brilliant experience for children. The elves entertained the children throughout with incredible patience and enthusiasm, keeping them fully engaged. There was face painting available, which was very well done, and added to the overall atmosphere. Father Christmas himself was excellent, warm, engaging, and exactly what you’d hope for. Overall, it was a lovely, well-organised afternoon and one we would highly recommend.

2 /5 Adam Roberts: We had a two-day golf break booked at the beginning of March 2026, playing both the East and West courses with an overnight stay. To be fair, we’ve had one of the wettest starts to the year in a long time. However, there is no way either course should have been open for play. The East course was essentially a bog. Almost every fairway shot plugged deep into the mud, meaning what should have been a safe shot often took ages to find—if you could find it at all. Because the ground was so wet, the fairways clearly hadn’t been mown, so you were hitting out of grass that felt more like first or even second cut. On top of that, the entire course was covered in worm casts, making it extremely difficult to strike the ball cleanly and leaving you covered in mud more often than not. Unfortunately, the West course was no better. We lost countless balls simply because they plugged in the fairways. Saying the ground was saturated doesn’t really do it justice—the playing conditions were truly awful. My local course would almost certainly have been closed if the ground conditions had been anything like that. The hotel itself was nice enough, but nothing special—no better than a Premier Inn or Travelodge. The bar prices were also quite shocking. Dinner was included as a three-course meal, but I’ve honestly had better food at a local pub chain. If you wanted a steak, there was also a £20 surcharge on top of your food bill. Overall, it was quite a disappointing experience. Given the state of the courses, they really should have waited for the conditions to improve before allowing people to play.
