4 /5 Phantom: Food
The hot and cold mezze is brilliant; theres a real array of dishes to pick, choose and eat from, all served with lovely hot loafs. The drinks menu is extensive if youre an alcohol drinker, but for anyone whos non-alcoholic, the options are quite limited, which is a shame really. Also, no mocktails on offer.
The main meal when it was served wasnt presented in the best manner; there was no salad to go with the meats or the fish, it was literally the main dish on a plate with either rice or bread - Ive been to restaurants and enjoyed their lunchtime specials and they presented the dishes in such simple but yet exquisite ways, so definitely some improvement here (if the owner is reading).
Having said that, Ive never had such beautifully cooked lamb in such a long time (!) I didnt even had to ask how I wanted it cooked and it was done to perfection (medium rare), soft, tender and moist - brilliant.
Service
Service was very good, staff were attentive, helpful. Some of the staff werent very talkative, there wasnt any "small talk" if you get what Im trying to say, and I always think that helps to build the rapport and service between you (the customer) and waiter; it helps to break you into the atmosphere and build you into it.
Atmosphere
For a small little venue, theyve managed to really maximise on the space - its brilliant; very cosy and warm. Up front is room for live performances. The general decor is relaxed, almost bohemian/chic if you will - it works.
Definitely worth visiting if youre in Camden Town...
