5 /5 Natalie Tj: Authentic Malaysian restaurant in Brockley - a gem!
Small menu but the dishes are delicious
We went early so food came promptly but seemed like the tables after us had to wait quite long for their food - if auntie can serve all the food fast, this place will be winning !
5 /5 Immy Branton: Lovely restaurant with really tasty food, nice ambience & kind staff. Also, the amount of tofu they give (same for the meat too) in each dish is so generous! :)
5 /5 Julian Stubbs: This is a local Malay restaurant, simple menu, cafe style, excellent and authentic dishes with a touch of fire, served quickly and efficiently. Good soft drinks list and a £2 charge for each drinker bringing in their own alcohol. My marks reflect how it achieves what it sets out to achieve. Popular so you will need to book to ensure a table. They know how to rendang!
5 /5 Steven Wise: What a wonderful gem of a restaurant hidden in Crofton Park. I’ve lived here for years and only recently noticed this restaurant. My friend and I decided to try our luck getting a table when they opened on Sunday night. Luckily for us they managed to squeeze us in. The staff were so friendly and the decor feels like you’ve been invited into a family home and this combination was perfect. I ordered the vegetarian rendang (photo 1) curry and some coconut rice. They were delicious, seasoned perfectly and the portions were really generous. We were both so full when we left that we welcomed the stroll home. They also let you BYOB for £2 which was great as we didn’t have to spend money on expensive alcohol. I also checked the hygiene rating which is a 5 so that’s the icing on the cake. A really great under the radar local Malaysian restaurant - please book and support them as we need businesses like this thriving in the local area. We both said we can’t wait to return!
1 /5 Celeste Tam: This is nothing like Malaysian food.
We ordered what was supposed to be roti canai and veggie kari melayu. The roti was undercooked and soggy. The vegetable “curry” literally tasted like frozen veggies that hadn’t been microwaved all the way through submerged in a pool of diluted daal. The food also took forever to arrive. It was not worth the wait and definitely not worth the amount of money we paid. I understand the kitchen might be busy but this is unacceptable from a restaurant.
Hera Excellent food. Been coming here before they changed the name but food quality is better than before. Love the bavette steak, size could be slightly bigger though, I can’t have enough of it.
Sian London Id only ever ordered delivery from here but I popped in to order and Im so glad I did. The location is easily accessible. We were welcomed with a smile and the food choices in store are more than you can order online. The food was cooked fresh so there was a little bit of a wait but thats fine because you know the food is fresh. We had seats to wait for our food and they were playing good music. The only slight inconvenience is that in store is cash only but there is a free cashpoint literally across the road. The food is very delicious with well balanced flavours and tender meat/chicken/shrimp etc. Highly recommended do drop in, if youre in the area or even if youre not. Its worth the visit. The value for money is also good with very generous portions.
Nancy Ellis We have never been disappointed by the beautiful food at The Blue Room, by master chef Sonia and her dedicated team. We’ve had evening meals at the blue room and have just today tried the jerk Sunday lunch which went down a storm with our boys and us. Wonderfully presented, generous portions. Highly recommended
Wenn Er Tan Lucky star has been my go-to takeaway for a year now and hasnt disappointed! The prices are reasonable for the generous portion sizes and the calibre of the chef. Hes always been really accommodating with special requests eg. to switch ingredients. Couldnt recommend the place more!
