5 /5 Leicester Eats & Sips: The Punch and Judy pub in Covent Garden is a real hidden gem with so much history behind it. The pub is named after the famous Punch and Judy shows, which have long been part of Covent Garden’s cultural heritage, and you can really feel that sense of history when you are there. It is part of the Greene King chain, but it does not feel generic at all. The drinks are reasonably priced, especially for such a central London location, and the food looks absolutely delicious. There is also a great selection of beers on offer. One of the highlights is the balcony seating where you can sit, relax and watch the entertainment and atmosphere of Covent Garden below. There is not a huge amount of space on the balcony, but that just adds to its charm. It really feels like a place you would miss unless you know where to look, as it is slightly tucked away and easy to walk past. A brilliant little addition to Covent Garden, especially in the summer, with character, history and good value for money.

We started with the battered halloumi, then all had the steak and ale pies, along with some excellent beer – everything was hot, hearty and really tasty. Lovely pub atmosphere and a perfect spot to relax together in the middle of Covent Garden.

5 /5 Chia Paknahad: We had a great experience at Punch & Judy. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to relax in Covent Garden. We ordered the turkey roast, the Korean burger, and the hot, spicy halloumi cheese, and every dish was excellent. The turkey roast was comforting and well cooked, the Korean burger was full of flavour with a great balance of spice and sweetness, and the halloumi was perfectly grilled with just the right level of heat. Good food, friendly service, and a fantastic location, definitely a place we would happily return to.

We ordered fish and chips, steak pie with mashed potatoes, and a bacon sandwich, along with a few pints of beer and soft drinks. The place has a nice atmosphere, with friendly and attentive staff, and it’s a great spot to enjoy a traditional British meal in a lively part of London. Prices are reasonable, pretty much what you’d expect for central London. Like in most pubs around London, the food seems precooked and sometimes there’s too much gravy sauce, which can make it a bit heavy and unhealthy, but overall the dishes here were tasty and enjoyable. A pleasant experience — I’d happily come back for a drink on its balcony, which has a great view and atmosphere.

4 /5 Michael Wu PhD: Nice bar with a great view overlooking the Covent Garden. Too bad, they dont allow glasswares outside, which takes the vibe of drinking away. We want really early when they just open, so there was no one there, so we pretty much get the whole place to ourselves.
