5 /5 William Blunt: Possibly the most authentic Japanese food I’ve had in the UK. The food is delicious and fabulously well presented and the setting of the restaurant is excellent; very small, but feels just right for the experience.
It’s not somewhere you go for a quick bite, it’s more of the centrepiece of the evening.
Absolute love it, I’ve been here twice and would recommend to anybody.
5 /5 Tamzeed Karim: On a day trip to Portsmouth i was struggling to find a place for lunch and then ended up in this fancy place for a quick bite and was very impressed. The ambience was quite relaxing with soothing music and the service was lovely.
The stir fried udon was made to perfection and the iced lemon tea was refreshing.
Overall the food is authentic and the restaurant will give you proper Japanese vibes.
5 /5 Jade Seng: Highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion. We booked in advance for a Friday night, as it’s quite a small restaurant, but we were the only ones there which meant we got to pick where we wanted to sit at the bar. The food was simple yet rich and the quality of the meat/seafood was great. On the pricer side compared to other local sushi restaurants, but it was a nice treat for a celebratory meal. The waitresses were friendly and the ambience in the restaurant was nice too
5 /5 River Stewart: Helpful staff, great atmosphere, incredible food.
Price is fair for level of service & quality.
Highly recommend.
Yee Gan Ong Dim sum is probably best explained as Chinese tapas - an assortment of dumplings, croquettes etc. Traditionally only served at breakfast and lunchtime
I live in the wilds of Hampshire. Dim sum hut is the closest restaurant to me serving freshly made dim sum. Luckily for me, they serve good quality dim sum with a good variety of dishes
They also do a traditional menu but I’m usually here for dim sum lunch. The staff do a good job, especially when it gets really busy
Selma Majeed Really good tasty food. This is our go to place in Portsmouth, affordable and good quantity. The lentil soup when you dine in is to die for,. Pro tip: add some sumac (the red coloured powder on the table) on top of the soup and it just elevates the taste.
Eloise Draper We had a lovely afternoon and excellent service from our waiter Paul who took care of us and was such a lovely fellow. The food was fantastic and we really enjoyed our experience. I had the mushroom starter, Trout for main and Chocolate praline, my friend had beetroot for starter, pumpkin tartlet for main and also chocolate praline. It was delicious! Great atmosphere and a relaxed experience allowing my friend and I to have a good chat.
Ben My partner and I went for Sunday lunch, as I have been here for drinks before but never actually eaten, and it definitely didn’t disappoint!
My partner had the Pork roast and I had the Fish & Chips - both were delicious and great portion sizes.
The pub/restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and the staff were all really friendly and attentive. The location is stunning too.
We will definitely be returning and we highly recommend it :-)
Paul Aldridge What a find, a proper old fashioned pub with real beer and unbelievable food coupled with great friendly service, the salmon special with prawn bisque was restaurant quality, will definitely be back.
