What Clients Are Saying Gulmi Bar & Restaurant (GG)
5 /5 Kchhitij Gurung: As a Nepalese person living in Woolwich for 10+ years, I have tried a lot of Nepalese restaurants around the area. When I saw that there was a new restaurant that opened up literally in the heart of woolwich, I had to check it out.
I went with my mum and brother and it had a lasting impression on us especially my mum. The atmosphere felt like I was in a expensive restaurant/bar and the Nepalese slow music in the background felt like I was back in nepal. And most importantly the FOOD was top tier and reasonably priced for the quality.
There are 2 sections to choose from In the menu. Indian food and Nepalese food. I decided to look at the Nepalese section because I wanted to see how the taste would compare. And with confidence I would recommend any of my friends and family to this restaurant because it showcases the Nepalese food really well. I will definitely go back to this restaurant because the Momo is the standout for me personally. I would also recommend trying the chicken chilli aswell.
5 /5 sulav Kharel: Four of us visited on a midweek evening, the service was outstanding. I would highly recommend the lamb chops, they were flavourful and tender. The timing between each course was perfect, giving us enough time to enjoy our samosa chaat starter. Overall very good evening, great customer service and the food was decently priced with good portion. Definitely will visit again
5 /5 Nabila Rafique: Visited Gulmi last weekend and had such a satisfactory experience. Its in the heart of Woolwich inside the listed Woolwich Building Society Building. Inside its warm and cosy, with high ceilings decided with paintings and artworks of Nepal and Victorian England creating such an inviting atmosphere. The menu had a neat selection of Nepalese and Indian dishes. We went for momos to start and curry dishes for main. My favourite was the butter chicken and three greens side. We saw other guests trying out biriyani. They staff were friendly and so understanding of my kids. The perfect place to have a great meal with good ambience friendly atmosphere and welcoming staff. Will definitely be returning to try the rest of the menu.
5 /5 Godfrey Oguike: We had a really good dinner here for the first time and it was great. Service was excellent. There was a bit of a wait so I would advise booking. It was busier than I had expected which is a good sign. Food was absolutely excellent! I would highly recommend it and prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be back soon!
Adanna Nwanguma Very kind staff, good service all emoloyees were well informed of the allergen menu and were able to cater to me and my allergy. Amazing I had a great experience
Ruth Chesters After spend 45 minutes in Montys and there vile unprofessional bouncers we left and dropped in The Ship. We avoid normally due to what we hear about it from staff members but absolutely loved it - great venue if a little poorly laid out. Great doormen who were polite and welcoming and decent music too. Only negative is if you are over 5ft 10" youll have to bend down if using the front bar area as ceilings are super low - fine for me as 5ft 4 but parter is 6ft 6 LOL
The Penguin So the servers tonight were absolutely amazing. They were friendly, happy to explain things in a warm and friendly manner and were very responsive to any requests. The food was good but I do think there could be even a small bowel or something to use as eating out a bag at the prices seemed very cheap. I took my grandparents and they would have liked to see at least one knife and fork dish just so the whole family can enjoy the experience. I think bread should be included or as a side so you can soak up the sauce afterwards. I would come again but only on a special occasion for this reason. If some minor bits were thought of it could be a regular experience. But the staff there have got to be some of the best servers I’ve ever seen. Quick, professional, friendly and responsive. If the meal wasn’t so expensive to eat out a bag we would have defiantly tipped them a tenner.
