4 /5 K. Ch.: Came in at 6pm on a weeknight to try some Malaysian food in a very casual but comfortable atmosphere (photos dont give it justice). I found the staff very friendly, unfortunately the restaurant has already run out of both the curry and the chicken wings. It was a shame that with a relatively limited menu two of the key dishes were not available. I trust this happens rarely.
Ordered as a starter the Chee Cheong Fun and it was good though i felt it was missing some meaty flavour and a bit bare ones with just the sauce. I trust eating it with curry was the way.
The prawn mee soup was not really to my liking, I was actually also a bit ignorant as I didnt realise it was a soup with very thin noodles. I typically prefer dry thick noodle dishes. On the other hand I cant say it was bad but not very impressive.
The star of the show was the beef rendang which even my companion who was adamant that she doesnt want rendang enjoyed and ended up eating half. I found the rice portion to be quite sizable, same as the noodles in the soup. So I dont think Id order a starter next time.
I hope to visit again and try the dishes not available today, I really think this place is a gem though I cant quite prove it with this experience yet.
5 /5 Q J.: There are three stalls here, two of them do Malaysian food, one does kebab.
We ordered food from the Malaysian kitchens. In my opinion, they are very authentic.
I would recommend the laksa, redang beef rice, deep fried chicken wings, and the desserts.
5 /5 Ee Yeong: Ordered the Beef rendang and vegetarian nasi lemak with tofu and tempeh. Sooooo delicious, full of spice (very spicy) and flavour, extremely authentic. Presentation was very good. The malaysian couple behind the counter were so sweet and nice, service was fast. The portion size was huge at an extremely affordable price. The kuihs and curry puff was very nice too.
4 /5 Leon Ck Liong: Heard a lot bout this little gem food (7 floor Malaysia tea room) I came here on noon which is quiet and Ive ordered Kerapok and prawn brooch soup, they served a good size portion and the food meet my expectations however I personally think the soup base is lack of original Malaysia authentic flavor, but Ill still come here even bring my friend next time. The drink from the side stalls run by the lady is also brilliant.
Khrystyna Shazhko Fantastic experience from start to finish. A beautiful place with an exceptional team. Special thanks to Chef Paola for creating such an outstanding culinary experience - truly the best food in town. Perfect for a night out with friends or a romantic dinner as a couple. Amazing Palomas, great music, and stunning views complete the vibe. Highly recommended. Thank you for an unforgettable evening!
Maddie Sheehan We recently came to China City to celebrate a birthday. The service was great everyone who served us was friendly. The food was tasty and portions were big. What truly made the night exceptional was Frank who went above and beyond and made our experience really enjoyable!
Michael Lehrman This is the second Tas Turkish Ive been to and I wish they had one in nyc because the food here is so much better, to me, than at the Turkish restaurants I frequent in New York. The set menu is the deal of the century with a glass of wine, two starters and a main for 37 pounds. The tabouleh and baba ganoush are outstanding and I cant resist the vegetable stew with cous cous. Charming service as well.
