5 /5 Cathy Dunbabin: Our Sunday lunch was delicious.…more than I could eat. Everything tastes fresh even though we didn’t get there until 4.30pm. The staff were excellent, very friendly and efficient. The venue had a lovely cozy atmosphere. We will definitely be going back.

5 /5 Ian D: My cousins husband booked a table for three for Sunday lunch. We were seated inside, but there were also available tables outside with a lovely view of the greenery. We ordered two beef dishes and a pork belly. We all enjoyed our meals—compliments to the chef! It got quite busy outside as well, thanks to the lovely weather. It’s definitely worth a visit. Lovely meals!

1 /5 Freya Reads: I went with my sister today to go and have lunch. We had reserved our table and were sat down. We were served by the very lovely Grace and the other waitresses. I went to go back to the car to find my phone and on my way back I was accosted by Emma the manager who rudely asked me "if I was going into the pub?", I was confused so didnt reply and carried on walking then she accused me again "are you going into the pub?" I said yes and then she went on to harass the dog walkers behind me. This made me feel very uncomfortable and respectfully this pub is in the middle of nowhere, so how I was dressed realistically where else would I be going? I felt very targeted and from reading previous reviews I can see I was not the only one. I went back into the pub and told my sister what happened. I then found out the managers name and told the staff working how this made feel. Quite simply stating that it was incredibly rude and if the manager felt that strongly about parking then they should invest in a car verification system where patrons have to enter their registration. When I was in the pub, the manager was nowhere to be seen instead it was the serving staff working really hard with little to no support. We paid the bill but did not pay the service charge because we could not guarantee that it would go to the waitresses exclusively and not the manager. I refuse to reward bad, snobbish, classist behaviour with my hard earned money.

5 /5 Nekhel Sahay: Had a truly wonderful experience at The King William IV Pub in Wallingford. This place perfectly captures the charm of a traditional English pub, and the experience was made even better by the incredible scenic views outside — absolutely breathtaking and genuinely out of this world. The ambience inside was warm, cosy, and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed and memorable meal. The food was exceptional. The traditional chicken roast was beautifully cooked — tender, juicy, and full of classic flavours, paired perfectly with all the traditional sides. The pork belly was another standout: rich, succulent, and cooked to perfection with a lovely balance of crispness and softness. The soup of the day was comforting and flavourful, clearly freshly prepared. We also enjoyed the potato skin fries and chips, both of which were perfectly crispy, well-seasoned, and great accompaniments to the main dishes. To round everything off, the English breakfast tea was spot on — a simple but satisfying finish to a fantastic meal. Great food, stunning surroundings, and a fantastic atmosphere make this pub a real gem in Wallingford. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy traditional British food with an unforgettable view.

5 /5 Edward Hammond: Wow! We hadn’t dined here in over a decade. It was a Saturday night and the place was busy. The landlady was friendly and accommodating. Beer is well-kept and served. Service was good but the kitchen… so good. Definitely the best braised lamb shank I’ve eaten anywhere. The others in our party also rated their meals and desserts highly. The Norton Malbec didn’t live up to the occasion, we didn’t finish the bottle, but the overall experience of dining there was superb. The bill came to around £50/head and we all thought it very good value. We’ll be back again soon.
