1 /5 jade: AVOID ⛔️ Absolutely shocking experience with Oriental Chef Enfield Town. We called to place a large order, which was confirmed along with the price of £61. Straight after, the woman on the phone asked how we would like to pay and we said cash please. She then started pushing us to pay by bank transfer - which is completely unprofessional and suspicious for a takeaway. We said no, we’d prefer cash. She kept insisting, so we then offered to pay by card on delivery. She rudely refused and said we’d have to collect it ourselves. When we explained we couldn’t because we had children at home, she reluctantly agreed to cash and confirmed the full order again.
We waited 45 minutes, no food. Called back and were told we “never ordered.” The man on the phone then said they don’t take cash “at this time” and actually called me “honey” — unbelievably rude, dismissive and unprofessional.
So not only did they waste our time and leave our family waiting for food that never came, they also tried to pressure us into sending a bank transfer, which is incredibly dodgy. AVOID at all costs.
