1 /5 Ben Daniel - Personal: We were not allowed to eat in the restaurant - even through we ordered before 7.30pm as indicated on the sign on the wall. Georgina (staff) said it was 7.31pm so there was nothing she could do about it. Even the till receipt read 7.30pm after we had paid. Pretty ridiculous, and poor customer service. Shame really, because the food was great. Could have been a lovely evening.

1 /5 Annette Kenyon: Absolutely awful in every possible way fish and chips can be awful! Extremely oily fish, literally dripping with oil, served with almost cold, greasy chips. Most unappetising, got them home (a one mile drive away) and ended up just binning them, The shop staff were two very young girls this evening, and whilst they were pleasant, I have to wonder if they had/had been trained in the necessary skills to avoid serving such awful food. Never going there again.

4 /5 Hannah Cassidy: Great traditional fish and chips. Light crispy batter , excellent quality fish and the chips are how chippy chips should be. Only downside was the pea fritter, it was more like a pea puree. Extensive menu, cant wait to return and sample the baked bean fritter.

5 /5 Maudi Fria Andhini: Our family was on holiday in this area and looking for a place to have dinner. We came across this spot and ordered small-sized fish and chips. The service was quick, but we had to wait a bit longer for the order to be ready. They didn’t ask whether we wanted to dine in or take away and gave us takeaway packaging. There were a few tables and chairs available, so we decided to eat there. However, since the food wasn’t served in a proper food box but just in a paper bag, it was a bit difficult for us to eat. The portions were quite large for us as Asians. The taste was good, and the batter was crispy. The price was affordable.

5 /5 Trevor Mayhew: Our first time in this new branch of the Happy Haddock so we were a little worried that the very high standards of the Shanklin branch would be hard to match. Were pleased to report that those standards have been replicated in the Sandown branch. We enjoyed an excellent lunch freshly cooked to order by friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. Were so happy that we now have two favourite Fish & Chip shops on the Isle of Wight. Highly recommended.
