4 /5 Tara Caffyn-Parsons: Enjoyed a lovely Sunday roast here from the carvery. Staff friendly and welcoming. Roast was good on the whole. Only downside was the smoking fire that wasn’t lit properly and made us all smell of a bonfire. Pub could do with a refurb and toilets not that clean, but okay for a Sunday lunch, which was good value for money.

4 /5 The Tewkes: The food was ok, pretty average and the service was good. They had a roast bar in the corner which looked good too. The chips could have done with being cooked more. I would go back but it wouldn’t be my first choice if other places were available.

5 /5 Dave Hill: Lovely building and historic old interior Cosy atmosphere. Our 2nd family visit. Meal for 5 circa £34 each , two courses ( inc. hot and cold drinks). Great service from friendly and attentive female staff on the day. Food was all excellent. Highly recommended

5 /5 Gabby: Went in here to celebrate my dads 65th birthday in November. I have to say that since theyve changed hands, its much better. Including the decor of the restaurant. A rustic feel to the environment. The carvery service has improved tenfold, and you can eat cooked food, unlike others, of a decent sizeable proportion. The prices reflect fairly on todays pub industry, just under £15 for carvery in the week. It was a very mild day, so didnt need coats on, but would like to think the logfire gets used in colder, wetter months. If you dont want the service charge, this can be taken off the bill. As for descriptions about in house cleanliness, these are false. Overall, for a pub, it is a clean place. No sticky tables, or food left on the floor.

1 /5 Lourdes Zenteno: Disappointing experience. We came here based on the online menu, which clearly shows several gluten-free options. Unfortunately, the menu available at the pub is completely different and not updated. There are no gluten-free markings at all on the physical menu. When I asked the waitress about gluten-free options, she came back with only the first section of the menu marked by hand. I then asked specifically about the steak, which she initially said was not gluten-free. When I pointed out that it’s just meat, she said she would go back to check. After that, she returned with the entire menu handwritten with pen, indicating what could be gluten-free. To make things more confusing, when I asked which sauces were available for the steak (which was finally confirmed as gluten-free), I was first given options, but then told again that actually none of the sauces were gluten-free. The gluten-free burgers advertised online are also not available, despite being clearly listed on the website. Overall, the menu is very different from what is shown online. On top of that, the service made us feel like we were being a nuisance for asking questions about the menu — even though these options are specified online. This was especially disappointing because we visited some time ago and the experience was much better back then. Sadly, this time it didn’t live up to expectations.
