3 /5 Mapa Madhawa: I recently visited this cafe and had a mixed experience. I ordered the breakfast burrito, but unfortunately, it was pretty average—it lacked flavor and didn’t stand out as anything special. My flat white was also a bit disappointing, though I’ll admit I might be biased since I’m originally from Melbourne, Australia, where coffee standards are high!
On the positive side, the customer service was good—the waiters were very friendly and attentive. The decor and atmosphere were also lovely, with plenty of natural light streaming in through the skylights, making it a bright and inviting space.
However, there were a few small oversights. For example, I was missing a knife and fork, and we had to ask for table water. Additionally, when we wanted to leave and pay, we got up and went to the counter, only to be told to return to our table and wait 5 minutes for the waiter to bring the bill. While I appreciate that this might be their process (and the waiter was extremely nice about it), it wasn’t the most convenient or ideal customer experience.
My partner ordered the cilbir, which they enjoyed, so that was a plus. Overall, it’s a decent spot with room for improvement, especially in the food and attention to detail.
