5 /5 Pauls Grasmanis: First visit and absolutely loved it. The food was full of flavour, from the papadum with chutneys to the pani puri and butter chicken samosa. The Kerala fish curry and dal tarka panchmel were excellent, rich and comforting. Finished with masala chai and paan ice cream a perfect end. Service was friendly, very polite and welcoming.

Decades ago, our favourite curry house Light of Nepal was located across the road and Tandoori Nights occupied Potli’s location Well, time waits for no man. But Potli carries on the Indian food tradition. No expense has been spared in bringing a corner of India to King Street - the decor and decorations are top notch The popadum tray with its mix of different popadums and the vibrant chutneys augured well for the rest of the meal. I had a wonderfully tender lamb shank. My friends’ korma and tandoori chicken proved elevated above usual Indian restaurant standards. My paratha was layered and crispy We do miss those student nights at the Light of Nepal but our adult selves appreciate the superior cooking to be found at Potli
