Sheba Brick Lane - Awarded Best Curry House In UK - (Near Tower Hamlets, london)

1 /5 Robert Scottorn: We booked Sheba two months in advance to meet a friend I hadn’t seen in a while. We both love curry and regularly eat at curry houses all over the UK, from Leeds and Bradford to London and beyond, so we know what good food looks and tastes like. Unfortunately, this was nowhere near it. The naan breads were shockingly small, around five inches in diameter and perfectly circular. They looked more like mini supermarket flatbreads than proper restaurant naan. For mains, we ordered a garlic chilli chicken and a lamb naga. These are two completely different styles of curry and should taste very distinct. Instead, both sauces tasted almost identical. Same base, same flavour profile, just different meat dropped in. The meat in both dishes was cut into tiny pieces and did not taste great quality. Starters were around £10 each. We had lamb chops and half a chicken. When they arrived, they were served on tiny little four or five inch plates that genuinely looked like IKEA side plates. The half chicken was basically one chicken leg with zero tandoori flavour, just plain chicken with a bit of salad on the side. We had specifically asked for lots of chopped green chillies. Instead, the kitchen sent out about five whole green chillies, unchopped. What exactly are you meant to do with whole chillies on top of a plain chicken leg? The lamb chops were dry and looked like they had been sitting around for a while. They were passable, but nothing special and certainly not worth the price. To be fair, the pints of Kingfisher were good. Fresh, cold, clean taps and reasonably priced. Drinks were the only positive. The total bill was over £100. We paid in full, including service charge, and did not send anything back because we were hungry, but it was a huge let down, especially given the booking and the occasion. If you are heading to Brick Lane, I would strongly recommend Bengal Village instead. Sheba was a massive disappointment and I would not return.

1 /5 Michael Cheng: I want to wipe my memories from eating this food, not exactly sure how there could be disappointing. Indian food in London, had the popular dishes. Had the menthi lamb which was mediocre at best but outshone the rest, with the tandoori chicken which was super dry, the mint sauce that didnt resemble any kind of chutney Ive ever seen on Earth, and the samosas which were like trader Joes air fried pieces, and the super sweet mango lassi. and the naan was old and dry too, super disappointing but service was decent nevertheless

5 /5 Sana Insad: I had an excellent experience at Sheba Restaurant on Brick Lane. They offer a wide selection of Pakistani, Indian, and Bengali dishes, and every dish was bursting with authentic flavors. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and absolutely delicious. The service was just as impressive – the staff were friendly, attentive, and made me feel very welcome. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to enjoy a great meal. If you’re looking for a restaurant on Brick Lane that serves amazing South Asian food with top-notch service, I highly recommend Sheba Restaurant. I’ll definitely be visiting again!

2 /5 Malachi Davis: Came here after seeing 30% off on The Fork - get the feeling “awarded best curry house in uk” is just the full name of the restaurant rather than any kind of certificate. My local takeaway in Manchester blows this place out of the water, the cheek to call it best curry house in the UK - had the jalfrezi was underwhelming and incredibly mild, bland even - karahi was an improvement but still nothing to write home about, chapatis were beyond dry genuinely think they were made from drywall, peshwari naan was enjoyable but it’s hard to mess a peshwari naan up. Main issue was the incredibly tense aura in the restaurant, felt if i breathed too hard i’d be sentenced to death, with waiters being quite rude and disdainful that I was using a 30% off offer? which the service charge cancelled out regardless?? Would not recommend, food would be passable if the atmosphere was better, but atmosphere is so tense I cannot recommend

1 /5 Kate James: Don’t order from this place!! Disappointed doesn’t even cover it. Ordered delivery this evening (6/12) and it was honestly the worst curry I’ve had In my life. Lamb buhna (pictured) was just oil and water and a grey colour that doesn’t give me any confidence in its safety. The other curry The Lamb ladyfinger, the sauce in that had also completely split. The whole meal was completely inedible.
