5 /5 Ali Selman Burak: Ai Sushi in North Finchley is an absolute gem. The all-you-can-eat option for £28.80 is incredible value for the quality you get. Every single dish I tried was fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of flavour. You can really taste how high the quality of the ingredients is, from the sashimi to the tempura and everything in between. The service was just as impressive. The staff were friendly, polite, and always smiling, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. They were attentive without ever being intrusive and made sure everything came out perfectly. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, ideal whether you’re visiting with friends, family, or even on your own for a quiet meal. It’s clear the team here take a lot of pride in what they do, and it really shows. This is definitely a must-try spot for anyone who loves Japanese food. I’ll be coming back again soon and recommending Ai Sushi to everyone I know.

5 /5 Mia Cryptkeeper: Finally decided to stop by recently to try this restaurant. It’s local to me and the ‘all-you-can-eat’ offer has always been tempting. I regret not going sooner. The staff are fast and efficient; while maintaining the cosy and relaxed atmosphere. The traditional seating makes the experience feel more intimate (don’t wear platforms like I did unless you want a leg work-out). I went as a party of two but this would be amazing for larger groups too. It was amazing to have the option to try a wide selection of the menu for only £28.80. The pictures I’ve shared don’t even include the full amount we ate. The tempura was stunning, so light and crunchy. Everything was super fresh. The handrolls are not to be missed out, the highlight of my meal was having the duck & spicy salmon skin variety. I’ll have to order a dessert next time, but we were both so full and content. The green tea was high quality and I appreciated the refill. Well done to the Ai Sushi team. You are living up to the ‘Best Sushi in Finchley’ title. I can’t wait for my next visit in the near future! :)

5 /5 hare super: Had such a lovely experience at Ai Sushi in Finchley! It’s a bit away from central London, which honestly makes it even better — no crazy crowds, just a relaxed neighbourhood vibe. Perfect if you want to take your time and actually enjoy your meal. The restaurant has a really cosy Japanese feel inside. There are both normal tables and some tatami-style seating, and the lighting is warm and comfortable. It feels private enough for a date night but also great for catching up with friends. The all-you-can-eat menu is seriously impressive — over 70 items to choose from. We ordered in rounds and by the second round we were already full (in a good way!). The sashimi was fresh and nicely cut, sushi rice was well balanced, and portions were generous. I also really enjoyed the tempura and the clay pot rice — not something you always see done well in an AYCE place. You can tell they care about quality. I was told the owner has worked in several well-known London restaurants and is still hands-on in the kitchen, which definitely shows in the consistency and presentation. Overall, great value for the variety and quality you get. If you’re looking for a relaxed Japanese buffet experience in North London, this place is well worth a visit. I’d happily come back again.

5 /5 Amy D: We had dinner here last night and we were really surprised with how good it was. We did the AYCE and I thought the menu was a little limited but it forced me to try things I havent had before and everything was really delicious. Our favorites were the spicy salmon skin roll and the garlic fried rice. I had 2 bowls of rice to myself and I have zero regrets. The miso soup and seaweed salad were also very tasty. The service was excellent they were friendly, incredibly attentive and very fast with the food service. We will be back for sure.

1 /5 Owain: Honestly just terrible, we have visited this place a few times, previous experiences have been poor but this is certainly the worst and last time visiting this restaurant. I’m writing this review to also to remind me if ever think about going into this restaurant to reconsider. Firstly service, we visited on Valentine’s Day, very poor from the two male staff members. I have encountered one particular staff member a few times now, taller with a ponytail / man bun. Customer service is really appalling, you are treated with contempt when ordering, that’s if you can even get their attention to order. Zero priority is applied to you at any stage of your visit. Clearing and resetting tables from customers that have left will always take priority over you, sweet time taken to do that also. We asked for a refill of the wasabi, the elderly man just took the dish, ignored our request and returned to setting tables. Secondly the mechanics to ‘all you can eat’ buffet. It isn’t, this surely is a law suit sitting, because in no way is it all you can eat. You can only order any piece of the menu 3 times (between the two of us in our case). Also you can only order 4 menu pieces at one time, alongside you only hold the table for 1 hour and 30 minutes. So of course they get to profit from you waiting for every menu pieces being cooked. For example it took 10 minutes and 55 seconds to get 1 small plate of edamame beans, do with that information what you will. I didn’t time the first 20 minutes because in fairness we expected a wait, being Valentine’s Day and all. But as the delays started piling and constantly having to lookout for a waiter to arrive, I brought out my stopwatch on my phone because it didn’t feel right. We are pretty patient people but this point it’s taking advantage. We waited in total somewhere over 45 minutes, this includes just trying to get their attention to take the menu (also excluding the 20 minutes prior) for all our each 4 items to be served to us. So in total about 11 small plates were delivered, because some stuff and never arrived but of course the waiter had a the nerve to tell us to finish the food before we order 4 more small plates, god forbid they can be cooked while we eat. No check backs during the entire stay to see if everything was okay. You might say, oh they were probably very busy, guess again. Photos provided should show evidence of that. I’m not complaining for the sake of complaining. The ‘buffet’ is a scam, they have no interest in serving you, despite putting a service charge on your bill. We left utterly unsatisfied and I couldn’t recommend highly enough to avoid this place at all costs, it’s just not worth it.
