Capricho - (Near Redbridge, South East)

5 /5 Navneet Bansal: Great atmosphere and a really lively restaurant. It was very busy so there was a bit of a wait for food, but it was definitely worth it. The waiters were attentive and friendly throughout. The Gambas Whiskey starter was delicious. For mains we had the seafood linguine (as the lobster had finished), robalo grelhado, file au maitre and bifinho — everyone really enjoyed their food. Overall a great meal and we’d happily come back!

3 /5 Mariana Cincilei: Capricho was my favorite restaurant, and I did recommend it to all my clients, but this is the first time I have left feeling disappointed, and I’d like to explain why. I have always enjoyed eating here, but today it was below expectations. I ordered a Tomahawk steak and asked for it to be cooked medium towards well done(we mentioned without blood). First of all, the steak was almost cold , not even properly warm which, for a steak of this kind, makes a big difference to the overall experience. Unfortunately, the cooking level was also not correct. About 70% of the steak was still bloody, and only the thinner parts were cooked the way we had requested. We were celebrating an anniversary, so we decided not to let it ruin our evening and enjoyed what we could. However, it was still disappointing. I am particularly curious why the steak was served COLD rather than why it wasn’t cooked correctly, what could have caused that? If I could, I would check the CCTV to see the time difference between when the steak was cooked and when it was served to us ,I am genuinely curious about this. So, for this time I left disappointed!

5 /5 Catalina Elena: This is hands down my favorite place to eat in London. From the moment you walk in, there’s a warmth that makes you feel right at home—like you’re being welcomed by family. The staff are always so friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind, which makes every visit feel special. Now let’s talk about the food—absolutely incredible. Their fillet steak is the best I’ve had in the city—perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. And don’t even get me started on the Baba di Camelo, their caramel mousse… it’s pure magic. Light, silky, and just the right amount of sweetness. I dream about it sometimes!

4 /5 Andreea Mihailescu: The company was amazing. Highly reccomended so we had high expectations. Music really loud but they lowered the volume once we told them. The starters were great, however the mains came quite cold. Lovely taste and the rice dishes full of flavour and fish. The deserts i must say were amazing. Refreshing and not very sweet.

4 /5 Becky H: Lovely food, there were a few hit and miss dishes but overall a good experience especially being in Hainault. Starters were all on point: Pork croquettes clams in house sauce were really nice (had sand in one of the clams) and prawns in chilli oil. Fav meal was the cote du boeuf esp the accompanying zesty sauce. Slow cooked octopus and fried salt cod were okay but expected betted. I think the bechamel sauce didn’t go very well with the salt cod. Some of the drinks were really pricey E.g. Coke for £4, im always happy paying for pricier food as this requires sourcing, prep etc but I’d expect this price to be in central London, not Hainault.
