Citro Restaurant - (Near Haringey, South East)

1 /5 Dark One: This establishment does not deserve even one star. The behaviour we experienced from the staff was unacceptable and deeply concerning. Upon entering, we were informed that the kitchen was closed and that food would no longer be served, which we fully understood. However, when we politely asked what time the venue itself closed, the staff member repeatedly responded with “the kitchen is closed” in a dismissive and rude tone. We clarified that we were not asking about the kitchen, but about the closing time of the premises. Despite this, she continued to respond with the same statement and maintained an openly hostile attitude. What was particularly upsetting was the noticeable change in demeanour once they saw that we were Asian. The facial expressions and attitude shifted immediately, which made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. The interaction left us feeling that we were treated differently because of our ethnicity. No customer should be made to feel this way. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this place, especially to anyone of Asian descent. Respect and basic courtesy should be standard in any establishment.

I realised that I hadn’t yet written a review, and I feel it’s only right to share our experience. From the moment we arrive, the service always makes us feel genuinely welcome. The staff are friendly, attentive, and create a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. The food is absolutely fabulous — consistently delicious and tasting as though it’s freshly homemade with great care and quality ingredients. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a perfect place for both casual meals and special occasions. I have no hesitation in recommending Citro to anyone looking for excellent food and outstanding service.

4 /5 Robert Chohan: Only been once for lunch during a quiet day, so cant say much about the atmosphere but the food was fresh, decent portion and friendly service. They do their own pastries and desserts too.
