5 /5 Margaret Walker: We are staying on the Isle of Wight for a holiday and decided to come to the restaurant for Sunday lunch after reading the reviews. The staff were so attentive and friendly. My husband had salmon fishhcake and I had mushroom pate as starters - absolutely lovely. He had the beef and I had the pork loin - beautifully cooked and the accompanying vegetables were so tasty. We will definitely be coming back.

3 /5 Val Newton: My partner and I visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch with two cousins who were on holiday with us. It was courtesy of a special offer by‘The Price is Wight’ and we were looking forward to it very much. Having booked previously which is mandatory we were shown to our table which we noticed did not have a tablecloth as many others did. On looking around we came to the conclusion that people who were here on the special offer (£15.95 each) were at tables without cloths - and I felt this was discriminatory. There was a good choice of starters, mains and sweets available including the usual Sunday roasts plus sea bass or vegetarian alternative. Two of us had different roasts and the other two had sea bass. Some of the vegetables (carrots and sprouting broccoli) were not cooked and were inedible but the meat and fish were fine. The sweets were okay with the cheesecake being the best one and although we didn’t order one the cheese and biscuits looked good. The offer was for two courses which would normally have cost £24 per head which I would have been loathed to pay for the fare we ate. The best thing about our visit was the venue and its surroundings. The restaurant was very clean and there were plenty of waiting staff available for drinks etc. There is a lovely outside seating area in the garden and on a nice day would be a joy to relax in. Whilst we enjoyed our visit in the main the two issues with the table and vegetables spoiled what would have been a wonderful occasion.
