En Root @ The Ritzy - (Near Lambeth, South East)

1 /5 Dino C: Went for Lunch on a Sunday. The whole experience was underwhelming. No one was there to offer us a table so we found a place to sit and check the menu. After waiting for a while to be approached to order we decided to to go to the bar. They asked us to pay upfront. We returned to the table and waited for the service. The starters came but not the drinks. We waited for a while and decided to go and ask for a drinks . When I got my plate of food my friend had almost finished his as they didnt bring us the food at the same time. The food wasnt as we imagined. Little portions of food cooked with little love. We left without complaining and no one even said thank you or goodbye. Looking at the bill we paid we regret spending our money in a place that treats customers in that way.

4 /5 Jillian Blackwood: Table Service to take orders would be great, especially as both of us have mobility challenges & the tables get taken real quick if you are not fast or good at musical chairs! The food was delicious and well cooked and I offer kudos & compliments to the Chef and all those in the back making and preparing these wonderful tasty dishes! It’s a very popular place with people actually travelling across London to come to the Ritzy branch! And diners eager to get a seat will come and ask to sit and share the table…it’s a no for me but I can see how one person on a table of four makes no sense - even though the indoor space is tight they still should be the odd one seat and table? The ambience is calm and chilled. I love Brixton and have never encountered any trouble from anyone I don’t know so feel very comfortable going to eat here and will certainly be back! The costs are reasonable and affordable, considering the portion size being just right for me who prefers to eat lots of small dishes rather than one big plate of food! We did see the size of the platters and WOW is what comes to mind as the portions are massive & definitely for sharing! Nice seating area outside and seems to have adequate security. If you don’t eat meat or dining with folks who don’t then I can see this as the spot in the summer time with the hot English sun out everyday with clear blue skies in the heart of Brixton!! Yay!

5 /5 Leo McIntosh: One of my favourite places to eat in London! En Root does tasty vegan food that feels good on the body and the wallet. Amazing flavours, friendly staff, and an addictive Raja Bonnet sauce! A must visit!

4 /5 The Munching Nomad: Love popping into En Root for delicious healthy vegan Indian Caribbean food. The Thali for 2 is so good, love the plantains and slaw combined with the Indian thali and roti. The only downside is it can be super busy and noisy pre cinema times and the queue at the bar can be long if you want to get another drink during your meal. Would be good if they had table service for the people eating. But the food is worth it!! Maybe one day they will have their own restaurant.

4 /5 Matt Newman: En Root have a couple of branches in South London but this is my favourite which is part of the Ritzy Cinema. Excellent variety of dishes available. I went for the lunch plate special costing £7 which was reasonable for the price and followed it up with the £5 coffee and cake special (carrot cake with a pistachio cream cheese frosting) which for £12 in total was good value overall. A lovely, laid back atmosphere made it a very pleasant experience.
