5 /5 DeepDownDirty Record Label: Always lovely to find a good independent coffee shop and Fortunellas food is good. They dont skimp on quality. Their eggs are the rich golden-yolked variety and you can tell just by looking at their bacon it is good quality bacon. Same goes for their sausages. Service was fine. The café is a little small and a bit cold but I didnt mind that in exchange for good food. I usually look at my partners English breakfast with some disdain (because so many cafés dont use good quality produce) but this time I was begging him to let me taste a little. My burrata was ok. Not the best I have ever had but ok. I loved the salsa and homemade pesto around the edge of my plate. My partners mushrooms were also cooked to perfection and not slimy! Great work! Coffee was good. This café is not suitable for small children, buggies or wheelchairs due to the size and entrance and the toilet is upstairs.

Eggs are cooked well, ingredients feel high quality, and nothing has that reheated or pre-prepared texture you sometimes get elsewhere. You can tell things are made to order rather than rushed out. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and it actually feels like a place where you are encouraged to sit, talk, and enjoy your time rather than being hurried along. Staff are friendly, attentive, and relaxed, which makes a huge difference to the overall experience. Prices feel fair for the quality, especially compared to other brunch spots nearby that charge more without delivering the same freshness or care. A great local café that gets the basics right and does not rely on gimmicks or aesthetics. I will happily come back.

The moment you walk in, you understand why people rave about the food selection. Everything from the vibrant salads and freshly prepared "baked" is meticulously displayed. It’s a true "eat with your eyes" experience, where the colours and textures are right there in front of you, making choosing a delicious challenge. But the real, undisputed star of the show is their Lemon-Ginger Honey Tea. It’s the perfect blend of sharp, sweet, and warming, a drink that instantly resets your day. Sometimes I genuinely only visit just for this tea alone, staff is always friendly and would add extra ginger or honey.
