4 /5 DP: Visited in mid-August 2025. The food is really very good, enjoyed every dish. The tartare, smoked potatoes and scallop, excellent. Great setting, log burner, dog friendly, and many locally-produced options with meat from the farm. It was a cold day but can see how great it would be outside in the summer months. It would have been 5 stars but sadly the service was a little mixed for us. The main server/waiter wasn’t great, very uninterested except in reading his book at the counter. Normally would not comment on this, except for the end when I handed my card over to pay, he said “how much do you want to leave as a tip?”. We left a tip, (with some words of advice about how to ask in future!) but primarily for the people working in the kitchen for top notch food and also the service they gave, clearing plates and offering drinks.
