Mother Flipper @ Brockley Market - Lewisham

Rating: 4.7 /5
Alice Carter Me and my family have been fans of mother flipper for a while! And they quickly became our fave takeout. Their beef and chicken burgers are both done so well, (I struggle to find burger restaurants that do a good beef and chicken - it’s usually one or the other) Their fries are THE BEST I’VE EVER HAD!!! Their dips are sooo good (ranch is superior). Recently we went to try their new chicken strip platter in shop, the customer service was great and really made going to the restaurant worth it!!!! Air conditioned (we went in 33° heat, so this was very much appreciated!) and the strips were perfection! We had leftovers to take home so good value for money. Long live mother flipper !!!!!! :)

Luke Naughton My girlfriend and I decided on visiting a local Italian restaurant, and we decided on Cassio Restaurant and Pizzeria. As soon as we arrived, Antonio made us feel very welcome, providing us with the list of specials, some great recommendations and looking after us all evening. He was a great server, very attentive throughout the evening. We only got pictures of the starters, but I’d highly recommend the Gamberoni al Prosciutto, and the Pappardelle della Mamma for mains. Such a lovely restaurant and team, it would be great for birthdays and special occasions!

Akber Ali I decided to order chicken fillet burger meal with 4 hot wings and 1 piece of chicken. The hot wings had some nice flavor, the piece of chicken was crunchy. The chicken fillet burger was small fits inside the bun but taste nice aswell. The chips were ok, they had 4 different sauces on display which were ketchup, mayonnaise, chili sauce and sweet chilli. The shop is small. They gave good customer service. Only downside I have seen is they charge 50p for burger sauce. They take card and cash payments

Choruibhati (চড়ুইভাতি) - Lewisham

Rating: 4.5 /5
Syed A Inan I went to this small Bangladeshi restaurant today, just a stones throw walk from Upton Park station, called Choruibhati. Not a commercially chain or one of the posh eating palces one might go for a meal. In fact, it is at the moment sitting in the middle of a construction site. We ordered Kachchi Biriyani, Tehari, Duck Bhuna with Pilau, Beef Bhuna with Pilau, Jorda rice, Halim and Borhani as takeaway. At first I was pretty skeptical about the food, but, once my nostrils had a whiff of the food, I realised I was about to be amazed. And, amazed I was. The food was rustic with blends of carefully mixed subcontinental spices that subtly brushes your palate in layers. Any trace of spice is washed away by the complex tangy-spicy-sweet-milky taste of the Borhani. Each dish can be tasted separately due to the differentiated spice blend, unlike all the commercial curry houses where one sauce is used for all the dishes. Comparing to most of the High Street commercial curry/biriyani houses, this is a hidden gem in the heart of East London. There is space for family or a group of 15+ as well as anyone using a wheelchair (down stairs) to sit and enjoy a hearty Bangladeshi exquisite meal. The Chef, Nizam, is a kind man with a warm smile. N.B: Due to constructions wheelchair access at the moment may not be suitable.

Cumbia Speciality Coffee House - Kingston upon Thames

Rating: 4.9 /5
Nathan M A proper coffee house which has very knowledgeable and friendly staff. They can tell you where the coffee is sourced (all of it is Colombian), the story behind the location & the processes undertaken. They actually roast all of their beans in house which gives it a very fresh and flavourful taste. The staff will help you identify what beans that would suit your coffee choice best, I.e americano, flat white etc. Really recommend visiting the cafe to sit in or take coffee for your commute from Berrylands. They also offer various pastries and snacks etc to complement your choice. I feel like that this is an independent cafe not to be missed, with expertise and flavours which will not be found at a local chain coffeehouse!
