La Piazza - (Near East Sussex, South East)

2 /5 Ramin J: Well, I don’t really like to write a negative review but sadly this visit really didn’t work out well. More like a Faulty Towers of how not to run a restaurant. New owners, need to vastly improve everything from the dated food, organisation, service and cleanliness. Greeted by someone with a mouth full of food which, not a first impression. The food was terrible. The chef was brought to the table to introduce him. Why? Awkward for both parties as it’s not a Michelin Star restaurant and didn’t serve any purpose. Service was not there either as we had to constantly get the waitresses attention. Pizza was ok, nothing special. My chicken was rock hard and tasteless, definitely frozen and could have made better at home. Same with the salmon. Seafood pasta was ok. The place needs a deep clean, the toilets haven’t been cleaned for a long while and the stairs had dirt everywhere. Not a good sign of an organised, experienced business. Definitely in need of a Gordon Ramsey show to sort it out…

The food was absolutely delicious, full of fresh flavours and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was relaxed yet lively, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a meal and good conversation. I’ll definitely be going back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food and a welcoming vibe.

5 /5 Leo: We celebrated a birthday at La Piazza and it was amazing! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and they really went out of their way to make the night feel special. The food was absolutely delicious—everything tasted fresh and authentic, and the portions were perfect. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, which made it such a great place to celebrate. They even surprised us with a little birthday touch at the end, which was so thoughtful and made the evening feel extra memorable. Honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you, La Piazza, for making the birthday celebration so wonderful—we’ll definitely be back!

5 /5 Lucas Fidler: Visited on a Saturday evening for dinner with friends after walking past many times and saying we should try it. We were very correct to think that what a lovely place! Great decor and atmosphere, with delicious food served by excellent people. My friend particularly enjoyed the pork belly, and my pizza was great too. Thank you everyone!

5 /5 Magda De Melo: What a pleasant surprised. Trying to find a table for 5 at midday for a spontanous roast is a tricky find when you call up most places and theyre fully booked until 5:30pm that evening - we were so lucky that wasnt the case with La Piazza and I imagine its because no one would think that this resturant would do such a great roast! Hoenestly - the portion size inceedible, the beef thin, the pork belly wasnt too crisp that we couldnt bite into the top, so yummy and the chicken was also really really good! All five of us were really happy with our choice. Would defintely go again and recommend to others. Really lovely variation of veggies too.
