Calong -
Polly Killingley I honestly don’t write reviews often, but Calong in Stoke Newington absolutely deserves one.
From the moment we walked in, the service was *exceptional*. The staff were warm, attentive and genuinely passionate about the food, the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like a valued guest rather than just another table. Every recommendation was spot on, and they struck that perfect balance of being attentive without ever hovering.
The food itself was incredible. Every dish felt thoughtful, beautifully presented and packed with flavour. You can tell there’s real care and creativity behind the menu.
What really stood out though was the atmosphere the team created. Relaxed, welcoming and quietly confident. It felt like the restaurant was running like a well-oiled machine but still with a very personal touch.
It’s rare to find somewhere where both the food and the service are genuinely five-star, but Calong absolutely nails it. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in London in my life.
Already looking forward to coming back.
