What Clients Are Saying Light of Africa (GG)
5 /5 EmilleeJoy: Authentic, vegetarian, delicious and healthy Ethiopian food at the heart of Brixton market. Service was so friendly and our waitress (and maybe the cook as well) came out to let us wash our hands before we ate our platter for two.
2 /5 stefan donat: Food was great, it just didn’t look like the pictures. Service was good too and people were absolutely nice so feel bad about giving two stars but we paid £30 for the sharing platter that didn’t look like the one that was served before . I mean it’s just vegetables!!!!!
5 /5 Sankarraj subramanian: Tried Light of Africa in Brixton, London and absolutely loved it ❤️. The injera was outstanding-soft, flavourful, and served with amazing sides that felt truly authentic.
The owners were super friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience feel like a warm Ethiopian home.
Definitely a must-try spot if you’re in London!
4 /5 Rajeve Brooks: Absolutely fantastic indulgence of Ethiopian cuisine. I had the popular platter and it didn’t disappoint. Brilliant staff and customer service. Keep up the good work, and keep it authentic.
5 /5 Edward Craggs: We were really keen for Ethiopian food and this did not disappoint. We got the vegan platter for two alongside samosas. Wonderful service; delicious food. Highly recommend.
Kiren Lall Hands down the best Caribbean food for miles around. Rose and Stafford, I take my hat off to you. A beautiful couple, so hard working, but always have a smile for everyone. Your food makes us happy. Your staff seem well looked after as they are friendly and happy too. Thank you for providing authentic, spicy and delicious meals with smiles ❤️
Ada P This place serves really good food at an amazing price!
I had the lamb curry which was very tender and in a delicious sauce full of flavour, a large portion with the bony lamb and lots of meat which i love.
The naan was freshly baked and very nice.
For £6 with the naan and salad it is amazing value for the quality, taste and portion.
The staff were friendly and kind.
The naans were being freshly rolled and Hand spun before being cooked.
The place was also super clean and all food looked good.
I can’t wait to go back and try more of their food, definitely going to be a staple work lunch at their pricing!
I would definitely recommend.
Zahraa Every-time me and my family get hungry we always come here. The food is affordable, sooo good and always a hit. I end up going every Friday without even realising just to treat myself for surviving the week. Their burgers are so good and we always order that. Definitely will continue to buy from here. Staff are also very polite and respectful
Centaurus Eurythion (Saggitarius Rex) We visited this restaurant located in Brixton right next to the Briton Village entrance. A lively gastropub with an amazing staff. The hostess was a girgeois woman who welcomed us like we were coming home from work. The chef does a marvelous job with the shirt ribs, pork belly and the ribs! The chocolate mouse was sift and delicate and the gin and tonics spot on! Visit this establishment when in Brixton. Cimpliments to the chef!!!
Elodie Rousset Authentic Ghanaian food. Welcoming and well kept. Eat in and takeaway available at great prices. This place was rightly praised in "Sunday Brunch" Channel 4. Real fresh and tasty food. A fireworks of exotic flavours. One of the best African restaurant in the heart of Brixton inside the street food market. I had Jollof rice with fish, and a rice with black beans to take away and a sweet traditional doughnut.
