Malabar Hut Restaurant - (Near Lewisham, South East)

5 /5 Devu Sk: All items were fresh and tasted proper authentic as if I was having a meal back in Kerala. Served quick and the staff were friendly and available. Also, acknowledged all the women who dined there today for th women’s day.

4 /5 appu r madhav: After the New Year celebrations we had booked a table for 8 people at 230 am at Malabar Hut East Ham. Since we were extremely hungry after the celebrations we arrived on time expecting the table to be ready. However despite having a booking we had to wait around 20 minutes before we were seated which was a bit frustrating at that hour. Because it was late at night the menu options were very limited. We ordered what was available ghee rice with beef and chicken along with appam. The ghee rice was just okay nothing special. The beef was good well cooked and tasty probably the best dish we had. The chicken was average acceptable but not memorable. The appam was good soft and nicely made. The interior of the restaurant looks good and well designed which creates a pleasant atmosphere. The staff were polite friendly and tried their best especially considering how busy it was after New Year. However the service was slow and there was a noticeable delay in getting our food which seems to be a regular issue during peak hours. One area that really needs improvement is cleanliness. The tables were not clean when we were seated and this took away from the overall experience. Overall Malabar Hut has good food a nice interior and courteous staff but better table management faster service and improved cleanliness especially during busy times would make the experience much better. This is why I would rate it 4 stars with room for improvement.

2 /5 Shereen George: We visited for lunch today and had to wait about 45 minutes for our food. We weren’t warned about the long wait and many people around us were visibly frustrated. The food was average. We ordered Alfaham mandi and chicken kizhi porotta. The Alfaham lacked flavour and was very mild. I was also unhappy with the cleanliness of the water jugs; they were visibly quite dirty. The ambience is good compared to other restaurants in that area.

A special thanks to STEFFY for her warm and attentive service. she made our experience even better. She was also so funny when we asked about the mutton biriyani, which made the evening even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!

5 /5 Foyzur Rahman: My first impressions of the place when entering was very relaxed. The service from the staff was very helpful when helping selecting from the menu. I really enjoyed the fish dishes and the roast beef. The beef mandi is too big! You can share with 2 people. The tea also is very tasty! Will visit again!
