5 /5 Felix Rodgers: I had the curry goat with rice and peas, as well as mac and cheese, and a beef patty. The curry goat…honestly mind blowing!!!! My first time having it, and I’ll be having it a lot more from here. It tasted home cooked, with meat falling off the bone. Super juicy and succulent. The rice too had so much flavour. The Mac and Cheese was really tasty too. The patty didn’t have a lot beef in it but it was still super tasty, and only £2. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. I’d recommend anyone visiting Brixton to try this place out. I’ll definitely be coming back!

5 /5 Andrew: Tourist review - Maureen’s kitchen serves stunning Jamaican food with a lovely community vibe. Got the oxtail with rice and fish with rice and beans - both were super flavourful and the best Jamaican food I had while in London. Highly recommended and definitely lived up to the hype! Some food items on the menu sell out, but otherwise can’t fault this place, would come back!

5 /5 Anthony Lai: Best Jamaican food I’ve had in London. Food was piping hot. Can’t say any more than that. I had the jerk chicken, curry chicken and tried some of my friend’s curry goat as well as some fried chicken. Every dish was phenomenal. I would say though because it’s so popular the wait does take a little bit but the wait was absolutely worth it. There wasn’t much seating but we were able to grab a seat.

3 /5 Nyw ADB: So.. Been meaning to go to this place, probably like everyone else, after seeing it on socials. My son had a game in Bermondsey so I decided to visit after the fixture ended. We drove 20 minutes and quickly identified the place having seen barbecue smoke in the air on what was a cloudy day. It looked relatively busy, but it seemed that most of the punters there had already ordered their food and were waiting. We waited for c. 15 minutes to order. We ordered 2 platters ..£20 each. Waited what seemed like 20 minutes for the order. The food arrived. I wasnt overly happy with the packaging. It seemed like the jous from one of the platters had spilled during the packaging process and had smeared everywhere. My son, who would normally beg for a Kentucky after a game seemed to enjoy the meal and could only make it halfway through. I enjoyed it to be honest. Was it worth the wait and cost? Probably tbf. Not sure id make a beeline there again specifically but im maybe slightly on the fence with the whole experience. My son was of the opinion that the wait was too long...again, as I said earlier, Kentucky! Im happy to wait for good wholesome cooked home food!

1 /5 Dave: 20 minutes waiting… to be told what we ordered wasn’t available. Switched orders, to then be told 10 minutes after that that rice and peas would be another 10 minutes. We opted for seasoned rice just to save waiting any longer. Also the chicken wasn’t cooked. See picture below. I hope I don’t get food poisoning but will be back in touch if I do. Such a shame as I really enjoyed my meal last week. Won’t be coming back!
