Max’s Brasserie - (Near , South East)

4 /5 Andrei Cretu: They label themselves as an Italian restaurant and it was nice but it was far and beyond what one would expect from the prices they had out. It was expensive but the carbonara I had was a little sickly and frankly not that good. I’ve been to Italy and the food there was better - I would expect it to be but this was a poor showing. The tomatoes were not fresh BUT there was a great wine selection and the olive oil and vinegar left out was good and actually parts of what we ate was delicious. The service was good and the interior was beautiful. So a bag of mixed feelings really.

5 /5 Khemsiri Bhamornbutr: Today is our anniversary, and from the moment we walked into the restaurant we received a warm welcome. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was lovely. The food was absolutely brilliant. It was our first time here, but we will definitely be regular customers from now on and will recommend it to all of our friends who visit Southampton

3 /5 Darren: When I saw Maxs has high ratings on Google, I went in with high expectations. Ive been to many Italian restaurants across the UK and Id say Maxs is London prices but its not London quality... Starters - whitebait - so hard I couldnt put a fork in it so had to eat it with hands. Main course didnt taste of salmon much but sauce was okay. My Dads meatball pasta wasnt for me at all - sauce was too sour like just opening a can of diced tomatoes and serving it. Meatballs didnt taste good so I only tried half of one. All hot food was too hot - it burned our mouths. My latte was good and the service was excellent but I shall end on one final thought... In my local Italian in Guildford, its completely full with no tables left at 5pm... on a Monday... and at 5pm on a Sunday, Maxs has plenty of tables free. Id suggest lowering prices or improving the food.

5 /5 Cassie: My favourite place to eat and enjoy a dining experience in Southampton. I love it here because it’s so traditional and so lovely inside. Max makes you feel at home and is so welcoming. My favourite dish is currently cod but the beauty with Max’s is the dishes change and there’s always something different. The wine is by far the best in town, as a wine fan I know that the selection there is always the best, not mass produced nor any nasty chemicals like some of the cheaper wines I’ve had in other establishments including high end ones…plus you can purchase the bottles you like. We’re regulars now which says it all. One word of advice if you come during theatre times it is packed and very busy so you may not get a table.

The food was outstanding: authentic Italian flavors, perfectly prepared, and beautifully presented. Every dish was delicious and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. A perfect combination of excellent service and amazing food. Highly recommended, and I can’t wait to come back!
