C&O Turkish Restaurant - Berkshire

Rating: 4.9 /5
Rehan Siddiqui On Friday 23rd January, we went for dinner at C&O Turkish Restaurant just off Peascod Street in Windsor. I had already called ahead to ensure all of the meat served was halal including the steaks! It was fairly quiet around 8:30pm, with only a couple of tables occupied, but we were attended to immediately. Drinks and starters were taken straight away and we opted for a simple hummus to begin. For mains, I had a beautiful lamb kleftiko – a lamb shank served with vegetables and mashed potato in a herby tomato sauce – and it was genuinely one of the best I’ve had. My wife chose the lamb adana kebab, and my daughter had the chicken wings. Everyone agreed the food was really good and clearly cooked with care. You could tell the team were making a real effort with service. The only slight distraction was a customer at the table in front repeatedly complaining about chewing gum under her table – one of those things better handled discreetly (by the customer), as not everyone needs to hear it. We had the pleasure of meeting the lovely owner, Jihan, who came over to chat with us. When I asked for mint sauce with my lamb shank, Jihan actually sent someone to a local shop to get some – that, for me, is outstanding customer service. To finish, my wife and daughter were offered complimentary Turkish tea and a fruit tea, which was a really nice touch. This is a wonderful addition to the two other Turkish restaurants already in Windsor, but I’d say the food here was better – which means we’ll definitely be back.

William Camden - Bexley

Rating: 4.1 /5
NCP The Camden is one of my locals i like to go to for easy drinks. After coming back from work I ordered a breakfast and im not even sure you can call it that. The sausages were like bricks. You expect some nice massive ones but they were disappointing when served. One was definitely microwaved as It felt like I was trying to cut concrete. Rest of the plate was nice and staff are very friendly though.

Harvester Beehive Ilford - Redbridge

Rating: 4.3 /5
Ms Chhetri We visited The Beehive Harvester for a Valentine’s family dinner and had such a lovely evening. The atmosphere was warm and cosy, and despite it being Valentine’s Day, everything felt well organised and relaxed. The food was delicious — fresh, hot and beautifully presented. The fish and chips were perfectly crispy, the mixed grill skewer was full of flavour, and the wings were great too. The kids’ meals came out quickly, which is always appreciated when dining with little ones. Dessert was the highlight! The sundaes and chocolate fudge cake were absolutely indulgent and made the evening feel extra special. A really enjoyable family night out. We’ll definitely be returning. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Old Red Lion -

Rating: 4.5 /5
Jonathan Ward We went to the Old Red Lion for Sunday lunch and like many reviewers, we were not disappointed. All staff we interacted with were friendly and smiled, and the Sunday Roast options are without question the best we have sampled around this area. Fresh and very good quality food is served. A good range of wines are offered, and lovely desserts topped off our visit!
