Sushi Hut - (Near Redbridge, South East)

5 /5 sana ahmed: We had the best sushi of our lives—truly exceptional. We love sushi and have tried it in many places, but this restaurant completely exceeded our expectations. We only chose it because it was close to where we were staying, and what a lucky coincidence that turned out to be. The food was absolutely outstanding. Everything tasted incredibly fresh—from the starters to the mains and, of course, the sushi itself. Every dish was delicious and beautifully prepared. The owner is such a lovely person—warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. He even offered us a bubble tea, which was another delightful surprise. It was hands down one of the best bubble teas we’ve ever had. The only downside is that we don’t live in London. If we did, we would be visiting every weekend without hesitation. Honestly, this place is so good that I’d consider a four-hour drive just to eat here again. A true hidden gem—highly recommended.

Finding high-quality halal sushi isn’t always easy, but Sushi Hut delivers on every level — from taste to presentation to service. The sushi was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. Every roll had the perfect balance of flavour and texture, and you can really tell they use quality ingredients. I especially loved the signature rolls and seared options — they were bursting with flavour without being overpowering. The staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming, creating a relaxed atmosphere that made the experience even better. The interior is clean and modern, with a comfortable vibe that’s perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. Overall, Sushi Hut is a fantastic addition to South Woodford’s food scene — a must-visit spot for anyone who loves sushi and appreciates halal dining done right. I’ll definitely be coming back soon!

5 /5 Sham: The owner of this place is such a lovely man, extremely welcoming and kind and made sure my friends and I had everything we needed. He even gave us free drinks on the house. To top it all off the sushi was UNREAL! Had a chicken ramen and the flavours were delicious. Thank you Uncle :)

1 /5 Rémi Rabatel: Big disappointment given the ratings. Weve ordered on uber a sushi platter and some other things. It was our first time. The sushi were inedible because the rice was completely wet and soggy. I dont think this is acceptable from a sushi place. You cant see the rice grains its a off putting wet shiny watery paste instead of rice. Weve had many sushis in many places over the years and never seen something like this. Has to be a mistake but normally you would notice it easily while prepping the sushis... Rice is the cheap part, it should have been redone. I cant understand how we can end up with this. We tried to remove the rice to eat the rest, but we certainly feel robbed.
