5 /5 H Hunt: We had a table of 7 and were immediately accommodated despite the pub and restaurant being very busy. The manager who served us, Samuel was funny, polite and incredibly welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. The two ladies behind the bar who I noted their names Olivia and Louisa were so nice to my children and made them laugh and smile throughout the many interactions at the bar. The food was fantastic, cooked perfectly with ample sides. Our chef was the kitchen manager Christopher so I’m told. Christopher, thank you!! I personally tried a new signature burger which was huge, and amazing value for money. My partner’s allergy was catered for with expert knowledge and it was a marked change from feeling like a burden having to explain what a gluten intolerance meant in many other establishments. The food arrived quickly too, so we could all eat together despite ordering apart

From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with friendly staff who genuinely go out of their way to make you feel at home. The food was outstanding—beautifully cooked, full of flavour, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Portions were generous and the menu had something for everyone. The pub itself is cosy and well-kept, with a great balance of traditional charm and comfort. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and everything ran smoothly even when it was busy. Whether you’re stopping in for a relaxed drink, a hearty meal, or a special occasion, The Sussex Yeoman delivers every time. Highly recommended—we’ll definitely be back!

5 /5 Gosia G: We visited this pub on Father’s Day and had such a lovely experience! The place has recently been refurbished and it looks fantastic – warm, welcoming, and full of charm. A lovely touch was that dads got a free pint on the house, which really made the day feel special. The floor manager and all the staff were absolutely fabulous – incredibly polite, attentive, and so accommodating, especially with all the food swaps we asked for (and there were quite a few!). The food was absolutely delicious, and the dessert was not only huge but also soooo tasty – a proper treat to finish off the meal. Absolutely 5 stars from us. We’ll definitely be back!

5 /5 Dean O: Had a table for 13 for my daughters birthday. Everything was spot on, food all came out together. Very impressed with everyone’s dinners, even done their own candles for the birthday girl as I’d forgot. 10/10

5 /5 Makayla Pepper: As a young student currently in a level one catering course, I sincerely thought the overall atmosphere, service and staff were all lovely. In my college group we were guided throughout the building by a polite, easygoing and direct man. He taught us how the till operated- - how to use it when you are ordering food, drinks as well. He also introduced us to their registration system and how they use an artificial intelligence called Charlie. Soon, we were inside of the kitchen where two other people were busy working in. All of us were able to see multiple screens attached to the ceiling that showed each order included with the customers name, and it was revealed how our food was being made. On every one of our tables, four physical menus that were very detailed but also easy to read were available. This includes the main menu, kids, breakfast and drinks menu available with vegan, gluten free options. All of their food was delicious! Personally, I had chicken strips with maple syrup. I didnt expect to like the two together as much as I did since I didnt think you could put something like that on chicken... All of the staff were kind, patient, understanding, friendly and I would reccomend that everybody should go to this pub. Reasonable prices, good staff and accessibility provided.
