5 /5 Jerel Kelly: I went to Tawa Roti yesterday and what a treat it was! I would highly recommend this restaurant! I had the curry lamb, stew chicken with buss up shot & macaroni pie and its not everyday you have Caribbean food over here that take you back to the Caribbean. The lamb and chicken was cooked so well that when you press the roti on the meat, they would break up. They had wonderful textures, the lamb was meaty, the gravy thick, textured and rich with flavour, the chicken was seasoned so well you could even see the green seasoning sitting on top of it and the colour difference of where the seasoning had penetrated the meat. The roti, soft, flaky, nice! To my surprise my meals came with dhal, I love dhal! It was silky, smooth and spiced nice it went well with the roti. The macaroni pie nice and cheesy which come with a herby cucumber chutney and delicious tamarind sauce you could drink. I tried to order sorrel but was told "sorry but it nah ready" bad luck in my case for the timing unfortunately however, that is a good sign as you can feel confident to say that its made fresh daily! Lastly while I was there even the Clapham locals were revelling that they reopened after the Christmas/New Years break on their first day back so you know the food is good. If you want proper Trini food or to experience Trini food then this is the place to go!.
