5 /5 TB: I loved following Sally’s journey from first watching her on the great British menu. I had very high hopes and it did not disappoint! It was great to be able to finally taste her food.
Firstly the atmosphere is perfect, cosy and welcoming almost like being in your nans front room. This is evident by nobody wanting to leave. Considering the Resturant is so new, service was excellent!
The menu is interesting and unique giving a nod to lots of British classics and lesser known dishes. Everything was cooked perfectly, flavours were big and bold and plating was precise but not fussy! Personal standouts were the brawn scotch egg, knife and fork bacon, haunch of deer and the rhubarb jubilee.
My partner had the mussels for main and we both thought they weren’t up to the standard of the other dishes.
However overall it was a memorable night of eating.
