The Chutney - (Near , South East)

2 /5 Lindsay Temple: There prices on menu on google are a lot less than when you go in the shop. Mixed review on the food, depends whos cooking I guess. The spice to food was awful. Have been there before and spices worked well together. Over powered crap tonight need to get the chief who can cook back in the kitchen. I left my slop in the end.

4 /5 Kelvin Webb: Enjoyed it. There was a LOT of fish in the Vindaloo and not so much potato, 2 pieces in fact which is a strange ratio as there about a dozen pieces of fish! Rice was cooked a bit beyond what it should be, probably precooked and served when required I guess, but it was OK. Vindaloo was nowhere near hot enough!

2 /5 Mr B: Very mixed feelings about this one. Staff are friendly and the starter was perfect for the second time. Naan bread also excellent. Thats the extent of the praise. The curry was mediocre, lacking any complexity in flavour, notwithstanding they served me the wrong curry until I enquired which one theyd brought. However, the worst offender, by far, was the rice. To say the rice was split is an understatement; it was so soft and overcooked it had shattered into a thousand fragments. Bland, overcooked, watery, grainy; nothing like one would expect from any self-respecting curry house. And for that reason alone, I dont expect to return.

4 /5 Timothy P. Jones: This is a very down to business type of establishment. There are no bells and whistles about the decor; thats fine, because the business here is the food and the food is magnificent. The menu is wide ranging. The service is excellent, albeit at times curt. But all the staff are very professional. The restaurant is off the high street, in a residential neighborhood. Its a rare find in London. The prices are below London standard, and the food well above. I have taken many friends and family here for a meal. They have all loved it.
