The Cinnamon Club - (Near Westminster, South East)

3 /5 Heinz Meyer: My wife and I came here for the 25 year reunion retro menu and were really excited as we weve been meaning to come to The Cinnamon Club for many years. Weve had Vivek Singhs food before in other places including their at home menus, so were very much looking forward to it. The service was dissapointing. We were seated, waited about 15 minutes before someone came to take a drinks order, we asked for the wine list (noting that every other table had been given a wine list with their menus), then waited another 20 minutes for someone to take our food order. The Amuse Bouche was nice, but plates werent cleared until the starter arrived. The starters of chicken tandoori and grilled lamb were extremely tasty, but luke warm. I dont normally complain and on this occasion I didnt, but I found it odd that freshly prepared food would be left on a cold pass. The main was similar (after 30 mins of waiting), my pork chop was amazingly spiced and lovely like that, but again luke warm. My wifes duck breast was only half of a small duck breast alegich looked tiny compared to my main, but also just luke warm. It tasted lovely, but its just dissapointing. We decided to skip dessert as we had a show to go to and we thought ice cream at the show would be safer bet. It wasnt even busy. We had a 17:15 booking and there were about 16 or 18 other covers and a full complement of staff. Its very odd, I dont think Ill bother going back which is a shame.

4 /5 A A: Came for the Valentines Day special menu. We arrived on time (8.45pm) but were told our table was ready and were made to sit downstairs in the bar for 45 minutes. We enjoyed a couple of alcohol free cocktails - lively was very good! When we finally got upstairs the food was pretty good. Decent level of spice and good flavour. The service was incredibly slow - I think the kitchen was struggling with the huge Valentines Day crowd - but we werent in a rush and enjoyed our time. However my Turbot was cold which was a little disappointing. The service wasnt very friendly either but we didnt mind - sometimes overly attentive service can feel a bit much. Better and more authentic tasting than some other high end Indian restaurants like Yaatra or Colonel Saab.

5 /5 Rhonda Williams: We went for New years Eve and it was a great decision. The set menu was filled with enticing choices. We started with a gin based aperitif which was included. Very nice. Then there was an amazing amuse bouche, followed by a delightful selection of starters. I had an outstanding lamb dish. A mid course beetroot cake with house made fruit ketchup was a perfectset up for our main courses. I hade grilled Tiger Shrimp which was out of this world. There was naan, raita and dhal for the table. Finally I finished with a chocolate ganache accompanied by a lime basil sorbet that I will try to reproduce at home. The service was never rushed, and was impeccable. There was also a small jazz band with a great singer playing all evening. We ended with a glass of sparkling wine each before heading home after midnight. A thoroughly enjoyable evening! It was pricy when wine and beer and a tip were added.

5 /5 Nicholas Egan: I have hosted a number of private events at the Cinnamon Club and this last year may have been the best so far. First let me say that the person who manages their events is one of the nicest and most helpful events manager iced worked with. He was always available to answer my questions and worked with me on special food requests, menus and beverages to stay within my budget. The space we had on this very special occasion worked perfectly. Our group was able to sit comfortably together, mingle before dinner and were able to give speeches where everyone could hear. The staff the day of the event were also tremendous and made us feel at home and accommodated our last minute dietary requirements. We will definitely be back for another event. Thank you again for such a magical time.
