1 /5 Sue Wilson: I wasn’t going to review this place because the lady didn’t charge us for anything. However, due to reading past reviews from other dissatisfied customers, which have been ignored, I decided to post.
Last Sunday we decided on fish finger sandwiches at the Tudor Restaurant and was disgusted to find that they were cheap, old, thin ‘fish fingers’. They tasted rank and looked awful as you will see by the photo.
When we complained they challenged us by taking a photo of a cheap, frozen ‘Young’s’ fish finger packet to show us, as if that was supposed to validate the quality. Not good enough.
It’s a shame because they have a terrific old building in a beautiful old seaside town, but clearly no respect for their customers or enthusiasm for their service. They didn’t charge us for the sandwiches or the coffees which was appropriate given the service and diabolical quality of food.
The staff were nice ladies, but whoever is responsible for the quality of products served need to take ownership for what they are providing at this restaurant; or align their pricing to ‘local cafe’ pricing, not price-matching with the many other quality food establishments in Whitstable. They need to change things drastically before customers abandon it or health and safety get involved.
What a shame. I hope they act immediately.
