Gurkha Village - Oxfordshire

Andy Alford From someone who eats out quite a bit, I can honestly say that this was the best curry that Ive had in a long time - possibly ever! I had the chicken lababda, which was just amazing- the flavourings and spices were unlike anything Ive ever tasted before. My son had the chicken korma, which was also delicious. Rice was plump and tasty and the nan bread (plain) was not at all greasy or too oversized. For desert we had gulab jamun, which was also good. This restaurant holds a 5 star food hygiene rating from 23 May 2023. Will definitely be back next time we come to Oxford - well done!

Ovisher Indian Restaurant & Takeaway - Oxfordshire

Sadek Ali I have visited this little hidden gem in Kidlington Oxford last Tuesday with friends for a banquet night and I was amazed how good and authentic the curry tasted and specially for £14.95 per person. 4 course this restaurant was jam packed and yet the ease of service and customer care given by the manager (mahfus )was a class. I strongly recommend diners to go ahead and enjoy this restaurant.

Keith Price OK food, but forgot to include everything that was on the menu. The service appalling!!! Walked to the bar and the barman just walked off, went away and came back 5 minutes later and the barman too busy texting on his phone to serve me. When i asked for the bill i was given the tap machine which i refused to tap tip, once paid i was given the bill with a service charge added !!!. Music too loud and after asking for it to be turned down, nothing done!! mooring right outside but we found a much better pub down the road after this experience. My advice give it a miss unless your desperate.

Gabi Yummy veggie chow mein, egg fried rice and spring rolls for good prices. There is also customer parking. Looks like its ran by a hard-working family.

Mayflower - Oxfordshire

Rating: 3.9 /5
Heffernan Noél (Noël) Recently, I was very fortunate enough to be invited by the owner of The Mayflower, in Kidlington, to a Chinese Banquet in his restaurant which is currently mainly known and used as a takeaway. The food was prepared by a renowned Oxford Chef, who previously was heavily involved in The Liaison, Paddyfields and the Tong San, these were all known for serving up the most amazing Traditional, Authentic, Cantonese dishes. He is now preparing this style of food and passing on his skills at The Mayflower on a pre-arranged basis. If you are thinking of having a special meal and think that this would be of interest, please contact the restaurant to arrange a meeting, with the owners, to discuss your requirements. The attached photos show a range of dishes, which although in this case included a number of seafood items, can be altered to suit individual needs. The meal that I have highlighted would cost between £50 and £60 per head and the minimum number would be 8 but 10 is ideal.
